HD VMD clears up European Union, spring break related rumors {Engadget HD}

May 3rd 2008 5:18PM I don't understand why endgadget are so dismissive of the VMD format.

I really think that it could trounce Blu-ray.

If you look at consumer reviews, people absolutely love the format because:

01. It's inexpensive;
02. It's backwards-compatible;
03. It's similar to existing technology.

Add the fact that VMD RW PC drives will cost the same as regular DVD RW drives... Well, it's a no-brainer really.
