GH: World Tour priced for 360 at $190 {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Oct 7th 2008 12:25PM wouldn't most of us want either the whole package, OR the game with the drums? why say this is the price for the game plus guitar, when anyone who has GH3 already has the guitar, but not the drums?

this makes no sense.

Obama-Biden top very scientific voter poll on Xbox Live {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Sep 23rd 2008 3:28PM I think technically speaking there is no "right to vote". The supreme court has even ruled this way: "the individual citizen has no federal constitutional right to vote for electors for the President of the United States." (Bush v. Gore, 531 U.S. 98, 104 (2000))

The deal is, you can't *discriminate* based on race, gender, age (if over 18), etc. There's nothing in our Constitution that says if you are over 18 years old then you have the right to vote. I believe at that point it's up to the states.

Giveaway Tuesday: The Office, season four {TV Squad}

Sep 4th 2008 11:51AM Dwight: Where have you been? And don't say the bathroom, 'cause I kicked in all the stalls.
Jim: Well that's an invasion of privacy, so, I'm going to tell Michael.
Dwight: Please, don't.
Jim: You... owe me.

Fanswag: Win Battlefield: Bad Company {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Jun 24th 2008 12:11PM This kid goes off to college. At first, he does a good job of writing letters home to mom and dad, and he would usually end it with something like "I would really appreciate it if you could send me some money." Over time, his letters get shorter and shorter until one day he writes "no mon, no fun, yo' son." So his dad writes back "too bad, so sad, yo' dad."

Fan Rant: The PG Rating for 'Prince Caspian' Is Ludicrous {Cinematical}

May 16th 2008 10:47AM I'm not sure that 1 scene would or wouldn't either, but my bigger point was that nudity and violence are not the same thing in any way, nor should they be treated the same.

In the example I gave, I was referring to maybe 2 kids at home who perhaps had seen the movie already or knew there was nudity in it...the main point being, nudity is much more appealing than is violence.

As far as the scenes sticking in their minds, I stand by this point. Men are so visually stimualted that they remember this stuff. A guy cannot consistently take in nude images and not become addicted to it.

Fan Rant: The PG Rating for 'Prince Caspian' Is Ludicrous {Cinematical}

May 16th 2008 9:45AM check out www.kids-in-mind.com. They have extremely detailed accounts of sex/violence/profanity in virtually every movie that comes out new, along with quite a history of old movies. Their reviews are usually published the same day a movie comes out, if not before, so you don't have to wait to decide if you want to see it or not. I think you'll appreciate it. Let me know what you think.

Fan Rant: The PG Rating for 'Prince Caspian' Is Ludicrous {Cinematical}

May 16th 2008 8:39AM I think some of you fail to realize that nudity in movies has a different effect on people - especially males - than does violence. The pornography industry makes billions of dollars a year because millions of men are addicted to it and the images they see stick with them forever. Violence on the other hand doesn't effect people that way.

Lawyers can say what they want, but lots of studies show (sorry for sounding stereotypical) that violence in video games and movies doesn't lead to kids becoming violent. Pornography on the other hand has millions of men entrapped and addicted.

I know that's not a popular viewpoint, but let me ask you this...if you had two friends at home by themselves and some movie with nudity and violence in it at their disposal, do you think they're going to put it in and skip to the beheading scene, or to the sex scene?

Joyswag: Win Grand Theft Auto IV on your platform of choice [Day 2] {Joystiq}

May 2nd 2008 8:05AM I'd like it on Xbox 360 so that I can use a semi-truck to drive over innocent civilians.

GTA IV edited for Australia {Joystiq}

Apr 4th 2008 8:59AM Can I just say that I wish they would simply put controllable filters on the game? I know that sounds blasphemous to say to video gamers, but what would be the big deal about simply having a "no nudity" checkbox, or a "no language"? It would be so simple and then everybody wins.

And really, what's the reason they don't? Artistic license? I mean, tell me honestly...is a character saying the phrase "don't $%!* with me or I'll kill you" really any different than if it just skipped the curse word and muted it out like on TV? I mean, maybe that would sound weird, but wouldn't it only promote sales to show that if players or parents didn't want to hear/see that, that they could turn it off?

I recognize that in a game like this you obviously can't turn off the violence (which, coincidentally, I don't think *most* parents have a problem with) and I really don't think most people would want to...I'm just saying that if they allowed this option, it would boost sales and R*'s rep, which can't hurt.
