HTC Touch Diamond launching on Sprint in September for $299.99? {Engadget}
Aug 19th 2008 7:24PM Love em or hate em, Apple has changed the smartphone game. Twice the price of an iPhone with half the storage.
HTC, LG, etc.... you're now 2 years or more behind. With the low introductory price of the iPhone their cost models are pretty much wrecked. Don't think there will be much of a line outside Sprint stores in September when this comes out at that price.
Good luck with that MIR....
I guess if you are locked into Sprint due to coverage/contract it's better than nothing.
As a Palm pilot/Sony PDA/Dell Axim/Palm Treo 680 owner over the years I have finally found a usable handheld OS in the iPhone.
The difference in integration between Windows Mobile and the OS X iPhone really makes spec comparisons pretty much irrelevant.
Yes, version 2.0.2 has some bugs/glitches/speed issues compared to 1.1.4. Another game changer is Apple's ability/willingness to send out OS updates. I saw 1 update in 2 years in Win Mobile and 2 updates in 18 months on my Palm Treo. I've had two in less than 2 months on the iPhone. The ironic thing is the problems/bugs/glitches on the iPhone are relatively minor compared to the existing problems/issues with Palm Garnet and Win Mobile.
Go try to browse the web with Palm's Blazer or Win Mo's Explorer. Not a fulfilling experience to say the least.
Flame away if you will but expectations on what is possible with a handheld device have been changed forever. Hopefully HTC,LG, etc.. can make it a competition. Someone needs to keep Apple honest.

Jul 30th 2008 9:46AM You think, after the release of the iPhone 3G, they may be reexamining their options? Maybe they can convince Verison to carry it. They're becoming the home of the iPhone clones.
This comment was submitted on my iPhone using the free Newsgator app I downloaded yesterday.

Jun 27th 2008 5:37PM "Vista doesn't suck"
Just saying it doesn't make it so. Vista most assuredly sucks. I've been using PC's since DOS 2.0. After my experience with Vista Business on a Thinkpad X61 Tablet I have become a MacBook convert. Thank you Vista for driving me to OS X. An operating system that's actually fun to use.
As June 30th approaches, are you stocking up on Windows XP licenses? {Download Squad}
Jun 6th 2008 12:39PM As a PC user from the beginning (DOS 2.0) my answer to the Vista/XP situation is to go OS X.
I bought a new, full power, Thinkpad X61 Tablet in January W/Vista Business. Pretty yes, but too many limitations/problems. "Downgraded" to XP. Now I'm down to just the normal XP problems.
After seeing the "Vision" for Windows 7 I'm ready to jump ship. Apple MacBook here I come.
I just want a computer that works without a lot of hassle.
