Silicon Mountain's Allio: 42-inch HDTV with built-in PC / Blu-ray player {Engadget HD}

Nov 10th 2008 12:19AM $1,599 starting is not bad for what you get!

But then again who wants to buy a computer that you have absolutely no flexability with. At least with HTPC's you can move wherever you need them and use them as a desktop computer if needed.

Toshiba surprises with firmware 4.0 HD DVD player update {Engadget HD}

Sep 27th 2008 10:22PM Funny how the majority of technically savvy people opted for HD DVD whereas the rich man who doesn't know what 1080p even means ended up being conned to the blue side :(

Too bad Sony made better deals than Toshiba...

What is The Brick? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 23rd 2008 12:51AM I think that brick is a hint of the name of the product.

For instance before the Macbook Air was released they had that image on the apple frontpage saying "There is something in the Air". They like to use hints but in weird ways.

Mac Brick? not likely.

But rather a brick is a hard, fortifying object that (in what i believe is Apple's style) would represent a storage device of some sort. Secure, fortified, etc. Just like a brick...

See where im going with this?

(P.S. - I would love to hear what you (Robert Palmer) think of this idea...if your not too busy)

OtherInbox: One mailbox to rule your junk mail {Download Squad}

Sep 11th 2008 1:45AM That is a really cool idea and I could really use that, but unfortunately the only way I could find to create an account was by manually finding the signup page @ http://beta.otherinbox.com/signup and then I still need an activation code.

Is there anyway to signup without a code or could you send one my way?

Thanks,
Jeff

The Rumor Room: iTunes Unlimited {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 20th 2008 11:24PM I highly doubt this is true, only because I don't think that record companies would give it the "okay" when they are already making tons off the $0.99 system currently in place.

This would be pretty cool but my guess is that if this sort of thing was released, you would have to pay a $99 renewal fee per year (after the initial $129.99 fee) otherwise the music would be removed from the computer. So it would basically be like renting the songs...for a year or more...which would be okay because most of the time you only listen to a song for a few months and then rarely after that. (unless it's really good of course)

D-Link's MediaLounge PC-on-TV DPG-1200 now shipping {Engadget HD}

Apr 21st 2008 11:50PM Will it stream movies I play on the PC? Or is there a program anyone knows of to do that?

Because I would LOVE to stream my iso's and install a blu ray pc drive if it could!
