HTC Tilt2 now available on AT&T {Engadget}

Oct 19th 2009 10:45AM My wife wants one of these, but we have several problems with it:

1. Incredibly expensive to buy.
2. Incredibly expensive to run, due to the monthly pricing plan (although still less than iPhone).
3. Reception in my area sucks, so a Microcell would be required (more money, more monthly payments, not available in my area anyway).
4. Underpowered. Today's UI and OS on yesterday's internal hardware.

So it's FAIL all around, basically. Better of with two coffee cans and a really long piece of string.

It'll probably take an act of congress to ban loud commercials {Engadget HD}

Oct 9th 2009 6:52PM Automatic leveling of that nature is crap. On quiet bits, you get a hissing sound that gets progressively louder until some loud noise clamps down on it - incredibly annoying. Commercials don't have this problem because they are already compressed up to the eyeballs as it is.

AT&T's HTC Tilt 2 coming October 18? (updated) {Engadget}

Oct 8th 2009 3:04PM My wife wants one of these, but the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack and the fact that Microcells haven't made it into the dead zone we inhabit might convince her otherwise. I'd love a Leo, personally.

'Safe Prisons Communication Act' passes Senate, inmates won't be able to hear you soon {Engadget}

Oct 7th 2009 12:13PM I'm on the AT&T network, so no cell phone jammer is necessary. My phone is rarely usable unless I travel far from my apartment.

Aug 24th 2009 8:36AM "The world's most advanced operating system." According to whom? Nebulous marketing claims do not a good product make.

Nokia introduces Booklet 3G 'mini laptop' {Engadget}

Aug 24th 2009 8:23AM Hmmmm. This MIGHT well be a little slice of awesome, if the price is right. I definitely think there is a market for a more powerful, "premium" netbook. I'd prefer to see Ubuntu or some such similar, but if the device has enough oomph I suppose Windows 7 won't be a particular hardship.

Always Innovating Touch Book unboxed, previewed and stuck to a fridge for good measure {Engadget}

Aug 20th 2009 1:46PM That would be cool for reading recipes off the intarwebs while you cook.

Okay enough waiting, where is tru2way? {Engadget HD}

Aug 18th 2009 4:53PM I am reliably informed that tru2way is under active development by 3D Realms, with an expected universal release "in the near future." Significant press coverage has described tru2way as "awesome", with one reviewer saying, "Damn! It's lookin' good!" In a statement from Philadelphia, Comcast guaranteed deployment before "too long."
