May 23rd 2008 3:49PM I'm guessing Bluray doesn't expect me to jump in this fall. Or this year. The funny part is that I'd like to, player price permitting, if only to Netflix BD movies. I love the hell out of the quality of HD-DVD movies and I'm not too proud to watch a BD movie. Still, I want it to be a 2.0 player. I can't help but think the network "update-ability" would be an important factor given how crappy most BD players operate.

May 21st 2008 4:07PM Hey, I'm getting ready to celebrate two weeks since my escape from TWC, now with Uverse in the L.A. area, so they can celebrate anything they want.
And their SD picture is so much better than TWC's I don't really sweat the single HD stream "problem". Still, two would be even sweeter.

May 16th 2008 10:06AM Really, it's about time. Not being able to get complete scores for even Central time zone games, not to mention Pacific, has rendered Sportscenter almst insignificant. If I have to spend the early morning digging around the internet fo rscores there's no reason to have an incomplete rerun/loop of Sporscenter playing in the background.

May 14th 2008 1:20PM Personally, I'd treat this promise like vaporware. That way if they ever do show up it will be a pleasant surprise. The system around my house in the San Fernando Valley needed all new switching. God knows how long that was going to take. I finally gave up on them.

May 14th 2008 10:04AM Yeah, new channels are nice and all. I may live in the effected area but I'm still glad I dropped TW and went to Uverse last weekend. Getting these channels, and more, right now is better than maybe getting these channels...someday. And cheaper.

May 1st 2008 3:51PM Yup, using the new and "improved" interface is not what you'd hope for. My biggest complaint is loss of certain functionality in the name of making it more, er, "user friendly."
I wish I could have gotten my old box back but it doesn't matter now. As of May 10 I'm a U-verse subscriber (Sorry TimeWarner and, by extension, EngadgetHD). More HD content would have been nice here in SoCal.

Apr 29th 2008 10:00AM "Battle." Uh-huh. I'm not so sure if The Amber Spyglass, as a book, gets classified as a "battle" in the same way that The Return of the King gets classified, to me, as a "battle." Maybe "struggle" would work better.
