May 4th 2008 10:00PM I absolutely hate this new piece of CRAP! I have been forced to use it in the Charlotte area for about the last 4 months. I have 2 HD DVR boxes and the old one IS WONDERFUL compared to the new one! The new one:
1st: Takes 15 min. to boot up after power failure or FREEZING!
2nd: Takes up to 30 sec. just to load the list menu, as compared to 2 sec on the old one.
3rd: the record options are awkwardly placed within the menu.
4th: You can't tell series recordings to "save until manually erased" you have to go within each episode AFTER it records to change that setting.
5th: ALL ACTIONS were a change is made or "letter" (A B C) button is pressed takes FOREVER!!!
OVERALL This single event has made me seriously consider getting a dish!!! I can live with this 'NEW" box in the bedroom, But if I wake up one morning and my old box in the Family Room has changed and updated to the new UI This will be the day I cancel my service, and Call Direct TV!

Apr 10th 2008 9:17AM Radioshack does the same thing. I had to sell this, only to tell the customer to have to call themselves. Its crazy!
