How's the iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade going for you? {Engadget}
Jun 17th 2009 8:02PM Update took 3 mins to download, maybe 10 mins to finish, and it all seemed to work fine.
However, when i tried to pair my Motorola H270 bluetooth headset, the problems arose.
Somehow the phone wont pair with this headset anymore.
Anyone else having bluetooth issues?

Netflix raising rates for Blu-ray subscribers by around 20 percent {Engadget HD}
Apr 1st 2009 2:40AM Well, to each his own. I had the 3 out at a time deal, and I immediately dropped the BD service.
I was fine with the dollar increase, but jumping up 4 bucks is too much for me. I personally purchase films on BD that I know i'll want to watch over and over. Anything I rent on BD, i can deal with on DVD upconverted.
I'm don't understand the large price increase. Had it been a dollar, or even 2 bucks, fine. but 4 bucks is a bit much for me personally.

LCD vs Plasma in 2009 {Engadget HD}
Jan 26th 2009 4:50AM Bottom line, PRICE is the most important thing for the average comsumer purchasing a new tv.
I went for LCD myself, because of 1, the price was cheaper, and 2 the brighter picture. The brighter pic was VERY important for me, because I live in Vegas, and my living room has 2 LARGE picture windows. This means the tv gets direct sunlight during the day, which made a plasma pretty much unwatchable.
Also, one of the comments i found hilarious in the recent podcast was the fact that customers are arguing with 'experts' in the field in regards to plasma or lcd having the better picture quality.
Break out your specs all day long, but picture quality for the layman is subjective. Some folks just wont see the difference, or hear the difference in competing technologies. Folks will believe their own eyes and ears, even if test equipment tells them they are wrong. ;-)

My Bloody Valentine 3D grosses way more in 3D than 2D {Engadget HD}
Jan 26th 2009 4:32AM I manage a theatre, and we lost a lot of business this weekend because the film was not available in 3D at our location. The new 3d requires digital projection, which is still lacking in most theatres. While all the tv adverts touted the 3D aspect, there were actually 2 different posters produced, one for 3D and one for 2D. If you check for locatiosn online, most sites would list the film separely for 2D and 2D locations. And of course most customers have no idea whats required for 3D presentation, so they get pissed AND actually assume we are showing the 3D presentation WITHOUT the glasses. DOH!

Engadget HD Podcast 119 - 01.21.2009 {Engadget HD}
Jan 26th 2009 4:26AM Love the show guys, keep up the great work. A few points. The cable monopoly issue is probably meant to convey a monopoly in its own industry. There are a lots of areas of the country, where you don't have a choice of a cable company. I happen to live in one in Nevada, so for me, its COX or nothing at all. Which kinda sucks for my high speed internet.
One other thought guys....too often you talk of stories, like the Ryan Block lcd/plasma, issue and you 'assume' your audience has read or heard of the story you are discussing. Some of us haven't, so your discussion is going right over our heads. A quick recap of the source material might help. ;-)
take care,

DISH Network finishes off VOOM, removes last 5 channels {Engadget HD}
May 15th 2008 9:57AM Well, this is very sad for me. MONSTERHD and KUNGFUHD were two of my fave channels. Sure they repeated alot, but they had some quality films you couldnt find anywhere else in HD.
I was a DTV customer for years, and switched to DISH because at the time they had more HD than DTV. Soon after the switch, DISH couldnt carry the MLB extras innings package, so i cant see my METS here in Nevada. Add the fact that they dropped VOOM, and added quaite a few channels i'll probably never watch, looks like its time to switch back to DTV.
The worst part of this is the fact that they treat the customers like idiots, and give no warning. I cant just imagine all the calls they received complaining about missing channels.
