Ask Engadget HD: Where can I find Blu-ray movies for cheap on Black Friday and beyond? {Engadget HD}

Nov 4th 2009 2:21PM Best Buy just had a great 30% off all Blu-ray sale. I usually go amazon.com, but more and more you can catch 'em on sale at reasonable prices at Best Buy.

Ask Engadget HD: Best home theater setup for gaming? {Engadget HD}

Oct 7th 2009 4:47PM The Panasonic S and G Series plasmas are great for gaming. And with a $2000 budget, that will leave you plenty of room for a Home Theater in a Box or Soundbar.

Wal-Mart cutting back DVD and Blu-ray display area {Engadget HD}

Oct 6th 2009 2:58PM Love how the picture is a Target display. I wouldn't have braved a Wal-Mart either.

Video: Panasonic's next-gen IPS-Alpha panel is uber quick, dark {Engadget HD}

Oct 6th 2009 12:01PM I don't mind the glossy coating. I'd rather have great contrast and control the lighting of my room. I rarely get a chance to watch TV or movies during the day anyway.

Lost University opens registrations for BD-Live connected Losties {Engadget HD}

Sep 24th 2009 4:35PM This could potentially be the first BD Live feature that really interests me.

58 percent of salespeople recommend Samsung HDTVs, 100 percent like big commission checks {Engadget HD}

Sep 11th 2009 9:06AM I work for Best Buy, and the problem is there are a lot of Samsung fanboys in the home theater departments. No one is on commission, but they're easy TVs to sell. I think its the bezels. I would say its form over function, but that's unfair: Samsung makes some pretty great TVs, both in LCD and Plasma.

Personally, I almost always recommend Panasonic Plasmas first, but some customers won't listen to you, even if its the better TV for their uses. They keep going back to a Samsung LCD. At that point, you just shake your head, sell them an overpriced HDMI cable, ring them up and move on to the next one.

Video: First working Blu-ray Managed Copy demo {Engadget HD}

Sep 10th 2009 7:48PM Nice to see Managed Copy becoming a reality. Can't say that I can forsee myself using it, but it will be great for those who want a legal Movie Jukebox.

Lord of the Rings on Blu-ray officially pushed back to 2010 {Engadget HD}

Sep 9th 2009 4:54PM This is disappointing, for sure. I wanted the theatrical editions (and I'll probably buy the extended cuts later too...), andI was looking forward to this release. The only bright spot is it does free up about $70 for a very crowded November...

Blu-ray releases on September 8th 2009 {Engadget HD}

Sep 8th 2009 7:56PM I'll pick up The Office.

Blu-ray releases on September 1st 2009 {Engadget HD}

Aug 31st 2009 5:58PM I'm picking both up tomorrow. After the reviews, I was going to get Braveheart only, but Best Buy has them for 22.99 each with $10 off if you buy both. So you essentially get Gladiator for $13. If its really bad, I can sell it for about $10. Hopefully Paramount will do a new transfer and exchange program like Sony did for 5th Element.
