CableCARD tuners come to SageTV via SageMCTuner {Engadget HD}

Oct 21st 2009 12:11AM Great news for SageTV users. I would add a single CableCard tuner or perhaps even the multi-tuner CETON when it's available to my setup. Along with the Hauppauge HD-PVR and SiliconDust HDHR it would give me all content however I want it. Plus it allows me to avoid giving up the many advantages that SageTV has over Windows Media Center in the HTPC realm.

Engadget HD Podcast 156 - 09.22.2009 {Engadget HD}

Sep 23rd 2009 4:30PM Hey guys,
Just listened to the podcast and had to laugh. Those PCH C-200 photos from my GeekTonic blog were taken by my daughter with her mom's iPhone! I was desperate to get a post up and the box arrived while I was on a week-long business trip. So yeah, those were probably my worst ever product photos ever... The review will make up for it though ;)

Dish Network Media Center tuner hands-on {Engadget HD}

Sep 10th 2009 2:34PM Nice to see they still have it around, but until it's ready for delivery it's pretty much in the same status as it and the DirecTV tuner has been since we first heard about these things: Vaporware. I'll be excited when/if I can ever order one.

Bummer that they're showing it with all channels DRM'd too. Regardless it would awesome to have a Satellite tuner as an option for HTPC users. If only... For now the Hauppauge HD-PVR is the only way.

Live from the Microsoft Windows Media Center event {Engadget HD}

Sep 9th 2009 7:51PM Not a lot of news in this event but the big one is of course the Any PC can use CableCard thing. A few others, but most of them we already knew. Disappointing that MediaCenter is getting so little new. I really had hopes (long shot I know) for new extenders.

Thanks for the coverage guys - Appreciate it!

How to import HD movies into Windows Media Center {Engadget HD}

Aug 18th 2009 1:36PM Or an even better way.

Use SageTV:
Rip to hard drive
Play in any client PC (softsled) or HD100 or HD200 extender

Or Use SageTV:
Run AnyDVD
Stream to any client PC (softsled) or HD100 or HD200 extender

For Extenders this includes Blu-rays...

Windows 7 Media Center review {Engadget HD}

Jul 28th 2009 12:29AM Really? It's okay, but I really don't think its that great. XBMC has a much better looking UI and it's customizable. Not much different from a UI standpoint than Vista Media Center is there?

How-to: Build a Blu-ray / TV tuner-equipped HTPC for under $1,000 {Engadget}

Jul 21st 2009 1:43PM I love builds like this - very useful for getting ideas.

My opinion on answering a good question: What if my budget was $299 or less?

If you already have a computer in the home that can be an HTPC server, plug in a $199 SageTV HD200 box and stream your blu-rays to your Extender. No noise, no settings to mess with, perfect playback and a whole lot less $.
