iPhone 3G: everything you ever wanted to know (but were afraid to ask) {Engadget}
Jun 12th 2008 3:02PM Let's be honest for a second. This isn't really everything you need to know. When you compare the iPhone to other smartphones on the market, you'll see that it lacks some features:
What about the camera?
There’s no zoom, no focus, no flash, and no light. Other than that, it’s a good camera.
How’s video recording?
You can’t record video on this device. Don’t ask why because we don’t really know.
How’s audio recording?
You can’t record audio on this device. Maybe you sould
Can I tether my iPhone to my laptop?
You’ve paid for unlimited data but you aren’t going to be able to share you 3G connection with your laptop or other device like other smartphones. Apple’s got this one locked down. If you need mobile broadband on your laptop or for a home connection, you should get another smartphone or a 3G network card from AT&T or another provider.
What’s the resolution of the LCD screen?
It’s 320 x 480 or about 2 times less sharp than other smartphones. But, the UI looks really slick.
What about adding cool applications to the iPhone?
You’ll have to use iTunes to add applications to the iPhone. You can’t just download a cool application from a developer website and use it. Developers much be approved by Apple and then Apple must approve the application. Yeah, it’s kind of the opposite of the whole open-source movement.
What about YouTube videos?
Only certain YouTube videos are available for playback on this device. This is because YouTube must manually encode the videos in a QuickTime format that’s viewable on the iPhone.
But what about the Flash player?
No. The iPhone does not support Flash; the world’s most popular piece of software.
How much is SMS messaging?
For AT&T it’s $5 for 200 messages or $20 for unlimited messages. In other words, you’re paying $15 more a month than you would have with the 2G iPhone.
Does the iPhone has a QWERTY keyboard?
Nope. You’ll have to use the software keyboard on the 320 x 480 screen.
Can I use the iPhone on T-Mobile’s 3G network?
No. T-Mobile’s 3G network runs on a frequency that the iPhone hardware does not support.
How popular is the iPhone?
Put it this way: Nokia sells more phones in a week than Apple has sold iPhones…total.

Leaked Halo 3 Alpha media roundup [update 1] {Joystiq}
Jan 16th 2007 5:34PM Look at all the comments from people who are saying that the game doesn't look good. That's the very reason why Bungie doesn't want these images out there. The alpha is a technical demo used to build the final versions of the game. It's like looking 2008 Corvette while it is under construction. It's not a Corvette until it's finished, shiny and fast.

Oct 12th 2006 11:01AM Look out for all the kids on Fall Break. That caused more competition during the PS3 pre-launch this week.
I would be surprised if there aren't enough Wii's to meet demand this holiday season. From the reports I'm seeing, Nintendo is pumping millions of these onto the markets.
