Aug 25th 2008 8:18AM Man, this is one of the few times i heard Mediacom mentioned on this website, as you can imagine i have the as service provider and they blow big times. too bad qwest is the competitor as far as wired cable service and internet and they are equally slow bringing new services and lowering prices in the heartland........Go U-VErse shake those guys feathers. wish we had FiOS.

Verizon "in talks" to buy Alltel for $27 billion {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 4th 2008 4:22PM wow, this would be a match made in heaven, Verizon will basically take over Alltel network and therefor their roaming agreements with USCC, SPRINT and other CDMA networks out there, dont forget also Alltel has some GSM network that T-Mo and ATT use in rural USA. be a great deal for VZW but wonder if FCC and other regulators will let it fly. Also they will have to divest significant assets to satisfy those FCC and Regulator dudes, Wow can't wait for this to go thru then i am on board with them.
To John: Yeah if you have an Alltel phone they will probably load VZW software in it or give you a free phone to upgrade, both companies run the same network

Jun 2nd 2008 1:24PM Too bad USCC only has 1XRTT in most of their markets, no real EVDO service to take advantage of those great phones, i have the Q with them and speed blows really bad, cant even watch videos on that thing...Other than that great service.
