Oct 29th 2009 3:35PM Agreed.
Build a media center pc for $600-800 and you are set. Plus you can do so much more with it than just watch and record TV.
Ask Engadget HD: How do I hook up surround sound without cables running everywhere? {Engadget HD}
Oct 1st 2009 1:37PM If you have baseboard, you could either replace it or pull it off and re-attach it. While it is off the wall, use a router (woodworking tool, not network component) and make a channel on the inside of the baseboard near the floor edge. Place the wires in the groove and re-nail the baseboard in place. You can drill holes through where you need the wire to come out. Very clean and if you change your setup, it isn't that bad to fill one hole with wood putty and drill another.

Sep 29th 2009 9:45AM Umm, 40% of the picture is helmet. Doesn't seem like a wise use of wide-screen format.

Clearwire says it's not married to WiMAX for 4G, would be easy to switch {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 17th 2009 8:22AM The only question is, "Does this bury all those WiMax modems, pc cards, and handsets. I would assume it would and sending free replacements to all those customers would be EXPENSIVE. But perhaps less expensive than using a one-off technology (assuming everyone else goes to LTE).
Sprint's Dan Hesse talks Android, Pre, iPhone, 4G on Charlie Rose {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 12th 2009 10:54PM Plans like Simply Everything are never about price cuts. They are about stability. Customers are willing to pay $70 a month, every month vs paying $40, then $100, then $70, then $60. It is the same reason we have insurance: people like consistent; the hate surprises.
And from Sprint's point of view, it is marginal for them to provide you minute 1 on your plan or minute 1,500. They know if people were charged on a per minute basis, they would use less minutes and play less for their plan, but Sprint would still have to maintain and operate that network regardless. Why not get some usage and revenue out of the network.
Sprint's big surprise to be unlimited calling, data, text, and MMS for $70 (update: official) {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 10th 2009 10:31AM This is great for my parents since they had to move to a Everything Data 3000 plan because of overages. With any mobile on any network included, this means they can move back to the 1500 and save $40. Perfect. Sprint is certainly upping their game.
