Iomega's DVR Expander does 500GB of eSATA storage for SA DVRs {Engadget HD}

Jun 10th 2008 5:19PM Other than it being a sweet looking ext. drive, a person can make one pretty easily. However, with the 8300HD receiver, I found it unstable to begin with. Missed recording or recording would be broken into more than one piece. Once I attached my own external drive, it became a lot more unstable with its recordings. Just my $0.02.

Rogers Cable to implement more compression on some HD signals {Engadget HD}

Apr 4th 2008 5:09PM News like this make me happy i moved to Bell Expressvu. This coming from a guys that was with Rogers for 2 years. Sure with Bell I get the 'rare' outtage due to weather, but the HD PRV receiver doesn't compare to Rogers. The Rogers receiver was brutal, requireing a hard bootup every few days.

Xbox 360 with Blu-ray to spark price war with Sony PS3? {Engadget HD}

Apr 2nd 2008 9:00AM I have a tough time believing that MS will start producing games on BR, nor do I see 3rd party developers doing so. Not only would they screw all the early adoptors, they also won't find the number of buyers of those games.

If MS does release the BR drive, it'll be for movies only (imho). As an early adoptor like the millions out there, I thinking we're going to get the shaft. MS has our money. There really is no benefit for them to make an external drive. The new 360's with BR will only gear towards buyers that are on the fence and don't already own a ps3 or 360. I hope i'm wrong about this.

DSUS DS-400GB splits rear-view with GPS {Engadget}

Mar 24th 2008 2:04AM The way I look at it, as long as the driver doesn't need to move their head to view the GPS display, it's all good. However, I do see a potential issue of having to touch the display when required. Imagine yourself driving, the car is shaking slightly, you are required to raise your arm over your shoulder trying to make route changes with the display. Sure there might be voice functionality, but that ain't perfect either.

Poll: Who makes the best HD DVR? {Engadget HD}

Mar 20th 2008 12:33PM Just my $.02, but unless people voting actually used all the DVR's, I can't help but question the validity of this poll. I'm thinking it'll be more of a popularity contest instead.
