Warner gets official with The Dark Knight BD-Live extras {Engadget HD}

Dec 2nd 2008 6:58AM All these add ons and "features" (that no one really cares about) is just a way of trying to justify the higher prices. Most consumers simply want them to drop the prices instead of adding bloat to the disc. I just want to watch the movie and could care less about any commentary from the director's brother's cousin's roommate. Until the prices fall you wont see any increase in format adoption.

Kansas City's KCTV takes local news HD, leaves WDAF holding the egg {Engadget HD}

Oct 23rd 2008 9:07AM Are you kidding here?!?!?!? Its the NEWS! No one gives a s#$t. Most people couldn't care less about news in HD anyway.

Dogs and cats living together: Sony and PNY set to re-release Ghostbusters on a flash drive {Engadget HD}

Sep 4th 2008 7:40AM and why not? Most HD movies are in the 4-6 GB range. Just because BD has a lot of storage space doesn't mean it gets used. You can easily and cheaply do HD on flash media.

Samsung UK exec says Blu-ray "has five years left" {Engadget HD}

Sep 4th 2008 7:33AM hahahaha What?!?!? What do you mean "succeed Blu Ray"?!?!? WTF? It hasn't succeeded at all. Until Blu Ray has a decent share in the market, its not a success at all. At this point its sales are dismal at best as consumers are opting out. The only way this technology survives is if they push hard in the digital storage/PC market AND make it affordable (as flash media is getting cheaper by the day). I'd hardly be waving the Blu-Ray flag at this point.

Sunfire' TGM-100 goes after the well-heeled media server crowd {Engadget HD}

Sep 3rd 2008 9:39AM Wow.... I did basically the same thing for like um... $900. A referbished Mac mini, 1TB of external storage, and slingbox.... done.

I Am Legend Ultimate Collectors Edition Blu-ray double-dips December 9 {Engadget HD}

Sep 3rd 2008 9:35AM Agreed. This movie blows no matter what format its on. I downloaded it in HD and stopped watching 2/3rds of the way thru as I was falling asleep. Plus no one's shelling out the $$$ for Blu Ray discs anyway, and especially not for crappy titles.

World's first THX-certified soundproof door debuts at CEDIA {Engadget HD}

Sep 3rd 2008 8:27AM Basically yeah. Why even bother with the door when with most of todays low construction standards the noise is just as likely coming thru the walls. Some people much have way too much money and nothing to spend it on perhaps.
