May 8th 2009 5:36PM I'm all for this, and I think people who oppose it aren't thinking about it the right way. Imagine if there was an App Store for the existing Apple TV. Imagine if you could buy a downloadable game in the style of Scene It. And because the Apple TV in connected to the internet, it could have a huge library of content. I think there is some real possibility in things like that, not necessarily taking on the XBox 360 and PS3. Heck, XBox Live already has this as an Arcade store for buying small, less-intense games.

Nov 29th 2008 12:57AM Anyone who reads Engadget HD and pretends to be shocked that people are still watching OTA HD is playing dumb, trying to incite flaming, etc.
OTA HD is the best bargain in consumer media today.
And yeah, this kinda sucks, but you go over to a friends' house for those games. I don't think many people will, and I certainly won't, make the move to cable or satellite based on the availability of one, or even a handful of, non-repeating TV events. A handful of hours of television total. Not a huge deal.

May 2nd 2008 12:34PM You give consumers way too much credit. People ask me all the time if they can borrow my Blu-ray discs to play in their DVD players. They don't understand Blu-ray at all, and are not trying to--a combination of ignorance and apathy.
