Review: 2010 Acura TSX V6 sacrifices twisties for long-haul cruising {Autoblog}

Sep 9th 2009 2:33PM A friend of mine and his family are very big into Acura. His mom drives whatever iteration of the MDX is currently on the market and he used to drive the previous TL. I loved his TL. Thought it was a nice looking, understated car, and the interior was a beautiful place to be. Once they started all this restyling though, Acura's started losing their appeal to me. My friend ended up getting married and buying a house, so when his lease was up on his TL, he decided to go a little cheaper and get this new TSX. I have to say that once he got it and I saw it in person, it's much better looking than what I've seen in pictures. I still like his old TL better, but the TSX has a very nice interior and the grill isn't nearly as polarizing on this car as the others. As for his mom's MDX, I've taken the polite route and don't say anything about it.

Sounds a lot like Hyundai with the Genesis and Equus.

First Drive: 2010 Buick LaCrosse looks to breathe life into old brand {Autoblog}

Jul 16th 2009 3:03PM You have to remember that GM is still repositioning many of their brands. Cadillac was always meant to compete with the German luxery brands it just didn't live up to them. The CTS doesn't make the whole company, you're right about that, but it's not like they're just going to make that car and stop. It's just the beginning to other models we're going to be seeing from Caddy, including a smaller entry level model and a large sports sedan (hence that comparison to the German brands). I actually think the GM exec isn't that far off. Lexus and up until the last couple of years with Acura, have been luxery brands that really didn't break any molds with their designs, whereas Mercedes and BMW were always known for their design language. I can definitely see Buick playing with the first two brands, where the cars are good looking but not trend setting, and Caddy playing with the other two with a very distinct, statement making, design language. So no, you can't quite compare Caddy to the others yet, just like Buick is not quite with Lexus and Acura yet, but give it a little time for the lineups to completely turn over.
