Panasonic DMP-BD50 Blu-ray players start to see the light of day {Engadget HD}

Jul 1st 2008 9:34PM I was going to get my hands on this player, but 700 dollars its too much for this dvd player in my eyes. I still think that the bluray players coming this year are not finished. Next year we will hear profile 3.0.

Best Buy unleashes Insignia NS-BRDVD Blu-ray player for $349, PS3 yawns {Engadget HD}

May 25th 2008 12:11AM Ok this is crappy quality, but next week best buy will put up the new Panny BD50, and for you boys that want to give 700 dollars you could get it (lol). It is a shame that the first complete player of this disease called Bluray will cost 700 dollars when you could put another 700 dollars more and buy a decent 40 inches LCD TV. This format is in serious trouble.

Sony BDP-S300 review {Engadget HD}

Apr 15th 2008 9:40AM Captain Bluray where did you get that information that the BD50 is coming out in June.

Sony BDP-S300 review {Engadget HD}

Apr 14th 2008 9:49PM PS3 is kicking everybody ##S around, Panasonic better drop the price to 400 if they want to sell a lot of machines. Philips, Samsung, sharp and the rest of the gang are charging 400 dollars per machine, but Panny wants 500 for the BD30 that my friend is overpriced.

Sony BDP-S300 review {Engadget HD}

Apr 14th 2008 6:44PM Why are you reviewing this garbage? where are the profile 2.0 new machines? oh wait its the BDA Aka CE Cartel. I will basically continue watching sports in HD and watch a movie one in a while in the movie theater, and buy a bluray 2.0 when the cost 200 dollars which mean that will be sometime on christmas 2009!!.

Sony BDP-S300 review {Engadget HD}

Apr 14th 2008 4:51PM Yeah this garbage profile 1.0 is not even worth 150 dollars. 45 seconds to eject the disc and 25 to load what a waste. My brother in law bought this garbage 3 months ago when it costed 300 dollars and he returned it. This machine gives problems when you play the new movies out now, even with the firmware.

Now the Panny BD30 is a great machine, but its not worth 500 bucks when is not even profile 2.0. I am waiting for the BD50 which will be my first bluray player.
Now with not HD DVD crap in the way SONY will make sure to destroy anyone when it comes to be number one in selling bluray machines, but I think Panasonic will be their nightmare.

I've been impressed by Panasonic it seems that they are the ones releasing the better standalone bluray machines.

Sony BRAVIA XBR 2008 roadmap leaked {Engadget HD}

Apr 14th 2008 1:00PM Cool, let me guess SONY will want at least 4000 for the XBR8 which of course is overpriced. I think SONY wants to make back all the money that they spent on Bluray(like paying money to studios ect). I don't have a problem paying money for a great TV, but when I compare their price with Samsung, sharp and others is way overpriced. I already have the XBR4, but I need another TV for the living room so I can move the XBR4 to my bedroom.
I knew that the bigger XBR were coming in August like last year releasing early sizes in spring and bigger sizes by the end of summer.
I am not concern about these TV right now, what I am concern is I want to buy my first Bluray player (not PS3 i don't play games). I want the new panasonic BD50 which now I don't know when will be released.

Blockbuster offers to buy, um, Circuit City: digital downloads be damned! {Engadget HD}

Apr 14th 2008 9:34AM Where BLockbuster found the money to buy a retail company like CC. Seriously blockbuster has 950 millions in debt. I used to work for that company and they are almost dead. I think Blockbuster know that time is running out for them So they want to stay in the brick and mortal business, but not in the rental area. CC offer good deals anytime you use your CC credit card. Now if CC wants to get sold, then Bestbuy will be the big dog that will buy them since they got the cash unlike blockbuster.
