Aug 17th 2009 8:01PM How about including a mobile device support column? I have been looking for a way to stream stuff on my (non-HP) WHS to my iPod touch over WiFi! Firefly has some capability, but it would be great to see a more capable solution. The UPnP solutions in the app store SUCK.

Aug 8th 2009 4:23PM Is it really correct to say that Windows supports Blu-ray "natively"? Windows supports HDCP natively, but decrypting the disk and decoding the video files are done with third party players.
Just thought I would point that out. Regardless, OS X does none of this.
Windows 7 Media Center review {Engadget HD}
Jul 27th 2009 2:57PM Ben, thanks for the report! This review convinced me. I am holding off until 7 is officially released and when it is, I am building a new system! Any good info on the multi-stream or the Dish tuners?

Jun 22nd 2009 10:39AM Considering a single silicon unit cell dimension is 0.543 nm, I don't know that we'll be hitting 0.01 nm anytime soon. I think you guys meant 0.01 MICRON, or 10 nm. That is a node on the roadmap.

Researchers tapping into nanotechnology for sharper images {Engadget}
Jan 4th 2009 5:25PM Tim is right. SPP resonances are EM waves that exist in metal, have somewhat narrow (although engineerable) linewidths and are SUPER lossy and inefficient. Also, since SPP waves obey the diffraction limit just like any other light wave, it is unclear how these researchers would use this phenomenon to do anything ground-breaking in terms of image resolution enhancement. Using surface plasmons for this purpose is NOT a new idea, and has already been proven to be severely limited in application.
Sorry to rain on the parade.
