I was MVP of the quarter for the Best Buy I work at and my "prize" was a DS Lite. Yeah, I was pretty pumped up =) Has anyone else ever gotten a recognition award as cool as that from their job?
I've been playing New Mario Bros, Mario Kart, and Brainage all week... next week it's Metroid Pinball and Yoshi's Island. Look forward to getting in on Game Night this week!

Millions miffed at poor quality from holiday HDTV purchase {Engadget HD}
Dec 31st 2006 1:52AM I work in Home Theater at a Best Buy in the Pittsburgh area and would like to contribute to the thread. I don't feel that you can't fully blame the employees for simply not going "above and beyond". Best Buy does very little to educate it's employees on the workings of the products it sells, a problem which is compounded during the seasonal holiday hiring period. Out of roughly 20 employees in home theater maybe five have a understanding on the workings of the products we sell.
I work hard to make sure that my customers have a good understanding of HD before they're out the door, and my managers have complemented (and rewarded) me for my hard work, but the fact remains that most of the employees CAN'T educate the customers because they don't posses the knowledge to do so.
The solution? Offer more pay to draw competent talent, plain and simple.

The reason it's in the burbs' is because that's where the wealthy people live. Naturally they're going to offer a new and expensive service to those who can afford it en mass. That may seem shitty but it has to be done. Comcast has had a large marketing campaign going on here in Pittsburgh trying to get it's customers to call their representatives to stop Verizon, it's awfully hypocritical of them. The same thing was down with Cable internet when it was first being adopted, the rich communities and businesses got it first and then, once it was perfected and cheaper, it was adopted everywhere else. The rich folks get first stab at it, that's just life. So, hurry up Mr. and Mrs. Moneybags, buy up that FIOS quick... I'm getting impatient here in the city.

Feb 25th 2006 12:11PM Mine used to drop the sound all time time... turns out my splitter (one to the modem one to the DVR) had a loose cable, i tightened it up and havne't had that problem since.
