Nov 15th 2005 3:25PM I like Sony stuff, I own a lot of it, but the recent rootkit issue and their corporate arrogance combined with really pushing high prices for so so products the last few years have really relegated them to the B list. Actually the whole root kit thing has taken them off the list all together. I don't feed the war machine of companies that believe it's their right to take away my rights.

Nov 14th 2005 8:49PM The failure to support DVD upscaling is utterly depressing. Here is Porch that can't get out first gear, it's pathetic. I do not understand MS's utter failure in thid department, it's like the original Xbox not supporting progress playback even though the box clearly has the power to do it. WTF? If it did up scale I would replace every dvd player in my house, but they just don't, no reason, no explantion (at one point they where talking about maybe).

Nov 4th 2005 1:32PM Don't hold your breath D*TV are some of the most DRM happy steel booted thugs out there. This get's demonstrated regularly by many of their different business units (sueing anyone who legal bought hardware they don't like for example, regardless of they can prove infringement the cases cost people a ton of money to fight). They also swore none of their devices would ever support fire wire because only thief's would want it :P. Nice folks really, I can't believe I give them money *sigh*.

Nov 3rd 2005 5:24PM First Sat pr cable network to get scifi channel in HD gets my money. That simple. I would imagine a LOT of other geeks feel the same way. Geeks tend to buy better packages and spend cash on hardware. Dish/Comcast/DirectTv get the dam lead out already! CA, Sunnyvale area.

Nov 2nd 2005 6:37PM This is just BS marketing. Any normal DVI cable will care 1080P just fine. We use them all the time for high def laptop presentations.
