TWC moves consumption-based internet billing to more markets {Engadget HD}
Apr 2nd 2009 12:35PM After reading this I talked to the CSR here in Austin..... as per her the "caps" will be implemented starting in next 3 months (till then its just monitoring it seems...)
Now I am in a contract with TWC for a 7Mbps download speed connection and as per her the contract price won't be affected.... we'll see...... otherwise I will have a good reason to ditch the contract and move on FIOS or similar.....
Ask Engadget HD: Can a projector really serve as my main HDTV? {Engadget HD}
Feb 4th 2009 1:43PM I have been using my Panasonic PT-AE2000U 1080p projector on a 106" screen for regular TV viewing for more than a year now..... The results are fantastic but I only watch HD channels.... so no idea about how SD would look on it!
After around 13 months I ended up changing the bulb on this puppy (after 2900Hrs. of usage)... cost me $350, but most of that was due to heavy gaming on my PS3....

The next Planet Earth? National Geographic premieres Earth: The Biography tonight {Engadget HD}
Jul 14th 2008 12:07AM The visuals were pretty good...... and they did do some good work on it... but why skimp on the audio commentary.... The commentary was nowhere close to what Sir David Attenborough delivered for 'Planet Earth'.
Can we get some "Neutral English" please....... I ended up flipping to another channel after 15 mins. into this great series.... all coz of the lame commentary........
Best Buy accounts for most Blu-ray purchases, but Amazon and Wal-mart are catching up {Engadget HD}
Jul 10th 2008 3:23PM My typical buying locations are:
Amazon.com (regular, discounts, BOGOs, etc)
Fry's (typically sales)
BestBuy (mostly 110% price matching with other stores)
CircuitCity (mostly 110% price matching with other stores)
In general buying blu at BB, CC doesn't make much sense at their regular prices.... the good part about those prices is that you can get good 110% pricematches with other stores like Fry's, Target, etc
Aperion Audio unveils Bravus subwoofers, Intimus loudspeaker line {Engadget HD}
Jun 29th 2008 2:01AM Nice effort Aperion.... but what's the point of adding features like "Digital display with remote control" when the end-user is typically going to use this feature once or twice to calibrate and then just use this as a regular sub. These kind of features look good but add little "value" over the long run but sure do add up in the price.
I think it can't still beat the acclaimed 15" Sub from AV123:

BBC iPlayer comes to iPhone, not as interesting as originally thought {Engadget Mobile}
Mar 10th 2008 2:13PM BBC website says:
"Rights agreements mean that BBC iPlayer television programmes are only available to users to download or stream (Click to Play) in the UK. However, BBC Worldwide is working on an international version, which we will make available as soon as possible."
Now that's lame .....
'Heyy Babyy' brings Bollywood to Blu-ray; Sony plans 100 titles in India this year {Engadget HD}
Mar 6th 2008 12:48AM That sounds great for the big movie lovers in the subcontinent and followers throughout the world. Still wondering though ... as to how the fans are going to "play" these movies.... The PS3 for sure isn't gonna cut it in India at its current price tag... and there don't seem to be any
