Feb 8th 2008 2:21PM WOW fantastic, 26%, the war is over, HD DVD is crowned king. *snore*. Call me in a few months when Warner doesn't even release on the format and one or two of the "other's" are neutral.
Christmas '08 it's over, the rest is just watching the paint dry.

Jan 25th 2008 11:44AM Considering the average joe will be able to afford either format within the next 12 months, it comes down to content. I'll bet you money that Paramount and Universal will be format neutral by Christmas.
In the end they're businesses, and any smart business will want a piece of the rapidly increasing BD pie.

Jan 19th 2008 10:19AM Frankly I'll make better use out of my SkyHD with dual DVR's, pay per view for movies and a Blu-ray player for watching the things I really want to watch with top quality sound and picture.
hmm, I suppose I can see a handful of situations where it would be good, for example watching with friends and you want to see a new release but can't be arsed to go to the store to buy or rent or you don't want to order online... oh and assuming the release isn't playing on the HD movie channels.
Otherwise it's a small step over DVD for anything other than watching paint dry. (i.e. motion artifacts due to bandwidth starvation)

Jan 18th 2008 9:18AM Obviously we know which format you bought into, lol.
I'm quite over myself thank you very much. Toshiba is clearing out it's inventories, one only hopes that lots of these are going to current HD DVD owners stocking up on players rather than new adopters that don't know the format's on it's last legs.
Relax, in a year it'll all be over.
