Panasonic DMC-ZS3 hands-on and review {Engadget}

Jun 15th 2009 2:16PM This is not a "normal" version of AVCHD, it's AVCHD-Lite which is not widely supported on Mac or PC yet. On top of that I heard Panasonic was doing something strange and breaking the AVCHD-Lite file up into lots of small chuncks...I think 20MB each? I can't find the review I read this in, so I might be slightly off. The good news for Mac owners is iMovie 8.0.3 update has added support for this file format. I have not tried it yet, so I'd love to know if anyone else has tried it and their thoughts?
I actually want the Panasonic DMC-TS1 which is rugged and waterproof version.

LA Preview: Toyota to display CNG fueled Camry Hybrid concept {Autoblog}

Sep 25th 2008 4:15PM THE PERFECT UTAH CAR...our CNG is only 80cents/gal here. The people running around in CNG Civics drive about 200 miles on $6 worth of CNG fuel. You're almost driving it for FREE.
Bring it on Toyota...someone needs to start making more CNG cars because Honda only imports 500 CNG Civics per year into the US, not nearly enough!

Comcast set to begin bandwidth capping come October 1st {Engadget HD}

Aug 30th 2008 11:57AM There you go, bluray wins! If we're capped at 250GB/month then HD iTV and renting HD movies over the internet is out the window. A single HD movie is 20-50GB, doesn't take to long to hit 250GB, especially if your using you connect for VOIP and all the other normal stuff. 250GB is too low of a cap for a person watching tv and movies over the internet. You gotta wonder how much of Comcasts TV interests are controlling this move. If they make it impossible to get your tv content over the internet then they can keep charging you $60/m for tv service as well.

What's even better is comcast announced a few months ago that they were going to offer 100mb/s internet service in 2009. Almost seems pointless with a 250GB cap.

VIDEO: Another Pontiac G8 ad that goes after our childhood {Autoblog}

May 18th 2008 4:38PM I drove a V6 version (all the dealer has so far) and I was amazed at the handling of this car. I found a vacant wide road and pretended it was a slalom course...luckily the sales guy riding with me was a young kid who didn't seem to mind, although I think he puckered up a bit when I started the sharp turns...LOL. The balance and handling was incredible...nothing like all the front drive crap most of us are driving right now. Anyway, I'm so happy to have a well made RWD chassis and suspension with an awesome V8 available for a heck of a lot less than a BMW.

It's about time!! I can't wait to drive (buy) the V8.

Top Gear HD, NBC editions stuck in park {Engadget HD}

May 15th 2008 11:44PM I 2nd that, us americans would ruin Top Gear which is exactly why Leno turned down hosting the show...smart man! Just keep it coming on BBC and I'm happy!

Slow sales and new fuel economy regs kill Nissan Titan {Autoblog Green}

Apr 16th 2008 10:52PM Kevin....LOL....you're actually going to chaulk up this win to the greenies? Hello, large truck/SUV sales slowdown has NOTHING to do with tree-hugger types, it has everything to do with the price of gas and people realizing they don't NEED such a large vehicle.

I own a Nissan Armada which is the SUV version of the Titan and I LOVE IT!!! The 5.6L V8 is the best V8 I've EVER experienced in any truck or SUV and I've driven just about all of them...except for the new Tundra/Sequioa. About the only thing that *might* make it better is a diesel engine, but with diesel at $4/gal now I'd rather stick with gas. For a family of 6 that goes camping with a toy hauler trailer full of motorcycles on the weekends the Armada is a nearly perfect vehicle.

Hopefully Nissan doesn't change the Titan/Armada too much using less superior chrysler parts. The cummins motor is the only part I'd happily take from Chrysler which isn't even made by them.

AT&T's prorated ETF gets detailed {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 2nd 2008 11:46PM Really disappointing that this doesn't apply to existing customers! I was hoping when t-mobile offered this I could get out and buy an iPhone. Bummer!

Q Tires testing Celsius retractable-stud snow tires {Autoblog}

Apr 1st 2008 10:44PM if this isn't an april fools joke, that's pretty awesome. I currently have two sets of tires winter/summer. If these worked well in both conditions I'd consider buying them.
