Man threatens to shoot iPhone at Genius bar {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 3rd 2009 3:06AM Haha, great article. Welcome apple to customer service in the wireless industry. Between the death threats and flying phones i've dodged over my 5 years as a sales rep, this story does not surprise me. A co-worker of my had a knife pulled on him in the store. When it comes to phones, people seem to loose all perceptions of common sense.
Apple TV: What happens now? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 14th 2009 2:54PM Dear Apple,
Start and subscription based service for both unlimited movies and tv and i'll cancel my satellite. Go ahead...I dare you to try. Until then, i will only continue to rent movies from you. Your on the cusp of an epic win or an epic fail of a device...your choice!
From,
Long Time Apple TV Customer
The dying goodwill toward AT&T {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 9th 2009 4:43PM I don't know what is more embarrasing for AT&T at this point.
- The fact that it seems T-Mobile takes better care of their iPhone customers
- or that the fact that here in Canada, our two other carriers that are CDMA (use phone tech like verizon or sprint) in the course of a year completely upgraded over to 3G HSDPA for the grand cost of $1 billion.
This proves that AT&T is just cheap and refuses to support a proper and reliable network. If a CDMA carrier can change over their national network (not to mention on the second largest country in the world, not to mention a country with less population than AT&T's subscribers) in one year. Then what is holding these cheap ass GSM carriers from giving us good service.
This is even true up here with Rogers (exclusive carrier of the iPhone). When Telus and Bell's HSDPA network launches on Sept 2nd, it will be a huge embarrassment to Rogers and AT&T as to what is possible when it comes to upgrading a national network.

Jul 22nd 2008 9:56AM "...Contact (DVD)..."
Come on Warner, when are we gonna get this in Blu? This should have been out already in high def! Contact is screaming for the high def treatment, can we have DTS master too, pretty please?
Twilight Hack protection already beaten {Joystiq Nintendo}
Jun 19th 2008 11:57AM Nintendo is just going through the same growing pains that Microsoft went through with the Xbox last generation. Once they finally give up when they realize it's not worth their time, this won't be an issue anymore. Looking at what the homebrew community is now on Xbox is a testimate of what great things can happen when you stop blocking things in your console.
And for you uptight babies that say it spurs piracy, give me a break! Oh my god! So russia or who ever owns the rights won't be getting more royalties from tetris. Boohoo! Look at the Iphone, if it wasn't for the homebrew community, we wouldn't have native apps!
iPhone versus iPod touch pricing: Say what? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 9th 2008 4:38PM @ conigs:
Duh, i work in the industry, i know that. I'm saying that given the response to the product NOW, they have decided to low the phone price due to the fact that they know ppl are willing to pay the higher bill price for it on a monthly basis.
I'm not sure if your in the US or Canada but up north, this is the reason that Data is finally catching on. Prices are dropping because there is greater mass adoption. Telus' 1st and 2nd Quarter earnings reflect this.
iPhone versus iPod touch pricing: Say what? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 9th 2008 3:31PM Quite simply put, AT&T and apple are making droves of money off the plans and bills. Thus, they finally realize they can make their money off the 2 yr contracts and lower the price to attract more ppl.
Not to mention that some of us (especially in canada) still find the iPod Touch the only other option because we refuse to sign with certain carriers due to their disgusting lack of 3G coverage unless your standing in downtown *insert major city here*. In my opinion the canadian CDMA carriers have done a much better job of broadband implementation than Rogers ever will. 2009 can't come soon enough when we might see the next revision of the Iphone finally include a CDMA version (long overdue). If verizon hadn't screwed this up to begin with, we wouldn't have had this problem.

Nintendo responds to Greenpeace (again) {Joystiq Nintendo}
May 22nd 2008 3:17PM My God! Nintendo following government standards? You stick it to them Greenpeace! Cuz let's face it, all Nintendo wants to do is rape the environment! Wait, this isn't even about the environment, it was a quick honorable mention on the "back page." This is just one big anti-corporate based attack, the only thing Greenpeace does anymore. Their intensions are no longer about what's best for the environment. It's just one big political agenda now.
This is old news in the way that this is all Greenpeace does anymore. They just sit around and b***h about corporations, it's just what they do. The good news is that the majority of the public doesn't buy into their s**t anymore.
Greenpeace disassembles consoles, checks toxin levels {Joystiq Nintendo}
May 21st 2008 3:53PM That's right greenpeace! The lesson here is that Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are evil corporations who care about nothing but the bottom line. Damn them for putting toxins in our consoles! Their gonna kill us all, just like Dell and Apple. You know what, damn them too, they don't care about our health, they just care about their bottom line too!
Oh and don't forget Ziploc and Te-fal! God, do they know what goes into their products? No they just care about profits! And what about Durex and Trojan. They just want us to have protected sex with their toxic products as well! My God, you mean to tell me pretty much everything in our daily life is toxic if you eat it? Someone should get RIM to make a Blackberry out of taco shells! That'll turn things around!
Does greenpeace do anything useful anymore?
