Sony's $400 BDP-S350 Blu-ray player shows July 15th ship date {Engadget HD}

Jul 2nd 2008 10:15PM @Truth Teller

What is your deal with a $400 price point? It's $400, not $4,000. Do you make minimum wage or something? $400 is 5 tanks of gas or 4 trips to the grocery store, or 4 rounds of golf, etc ... Normal people with jobs have no problem with it.

I'm sorry your ridiculously priced $100 Toshiba's made you think you could decorate your house with HD-DVD players. Get over it. $400 is not that much for an HD item in the HD market. Toshiba was dumping players at prices way under the production cost, everyone knows this except you.

"OMG some random non-Toshiba MFG is trying to sell something to the PS3/Blu-Ray-fanboys. SO STOOPID. Laughing my ass off! Funniest thing ever!!!!"

Same post over and over and over again.

Nfinity, what did you do with your $200 savings from an HD-DVD player over a Blu-Ray player? Corner the market? You must be a bazillionaire by now.

@Nfinity

Region locks lost you the studios and subsequently the format war. How's that working out for you now?

Also, please post a list of movies we can't see in the USA region that anyone would want. I'm actually curious about what I'm missing.

Toshiba knows no shame, plans to release super-resolution DVD player {Engadget HD}

I want to thank Toshiba for the cheaper and better blu-ray players and discs that will be created thanks to the renewed competition from Toshiba's second entry into the HD player market. After the last huge contribution by Toshiba, I just didn't think they had it in them. ***Applause***
