Latest iControlPad prototype bulks up, gets handled on video {Engadget}

Nov 8th 2009 8:05PM I was thinking the same thing, this would be so cool if apps started to support control pads like this. You could also have other manufactures design competing pads as long as they had the same basic support, maybe they could drop the analog sticks to make them smaller but then people would have to understand they wouldn't be able to play some games as easily.

NVIDIA confirms Intel chipsets won't support USB 3.0 until 2011 {Engadget}

Nov 4th 2009 11:03AM Intel trying to push lightpeak? If it comes out in early 2010 and is truly better then USB 3.0 then I won't be that upset.

Real Time Race promises to let you race against the pros, in real time {Engadget}

Nov 2nd 2009 3:52PM Ummm anyone else remember all the shitty 'CD' console games that came out originally? This is going to be balls to play.

Netflix, Best Buy deal brings Watch Instantly streaming to even cheaper Blu-ray players {Engadget}

Oct 20th 2009 10:27PM Funny thing is while I find the Insignia players pretty bad they are much more reliable then the horrible Samsung BDP-1600, I used to work at Best Buy and we had those die all the time. I never shut the Insignia player off and it was working for over a year 24/7, I was shocked. Of course it could have just been that one model but I had a lot of 1600s die.

If they had the WiFi one for $100 I would jump the gun to get one.

Patriot's $130 Box Office 1080p media player streams on the cheap {Engadget HD}

Oct 19th 2009 4:29PM This is pretty damn tempting for $99 with WiFi, I have plenty of 720p movies that would play great on this and I hate the idea of having an external HDD on a device like the WD. I want something clean. Basically it comes out to about $200 w/ a 500GB HDD, anyone else have any other better suggestions?

Sprint Hero spied in a cold-looking retail setting {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 24th 2009 10:58AM I do agree about it loosing style without the chin and I was a big chin hater too but I still think I much rather have a flat phone like this in my pocket then one with a bend in it.
I really like my iPhone 2G because it is flat on both sides so it's very comfortable whatever way you put it in your pocket.

Gartner predicts that by 2013, 95 percent of video will be H.264 {Engadget HD}

Sep 22nd 2009 2:11PM I love H.264, best codec out there as of now. I am pretty disappointed to see so much in the way of live TV use Mpeg-2 for encoding, that shit is old as hell.
By 2013 I will be ready for H.265 or something though, lol

Panasonic's new EVERLED light bulbs to light up your life for 19 years {Engadget}

Sep 16th 2009 4:46PM Can you guys imagine soon the iHouse will be possible! Built in lightbulbs everywhere but they last 150 years!

Sep 16th 2009 4:44PM I want to see more price wars!
MS is including a second controller in their package! ok ok, still no WiFi or BD though...

Switched On: The iPod touch and the big picture {Engadget}

Sep 11th 2009 12:00PM I find it funny how everyone complains about these shitty pin hole cameras and now that the iPod touch did not get one everyone is bitching, make up your f'ing minds!
The fact that they doubled the storage capacity to 32GB and put in the faster processor for the same price is a nice upgrade and so is adding a 64GB version. The 8GB $30 price drop is pretty weak though.
While I don't plan on picking up a Zune HD, I encourage the competition as it will only make these devices better and cheaper for us the consumers.
