Apr 30th 2008 4:20PM This allows your DVR to pick up local OTA HDTV channels that D* might not otherwise carry. A good example is in my area there is no PBS in HD on D*. I could buy this tuner if I had the HR21 and the DVR would be able to RECORD. Also not everyone has a HDTV that was bought in the last 3 years. My Panny Plasma was purchased in 2002.

Toshiba gearing up to drop HD DVD? {Engadget}
Feb 14th 2008 9:19PM I hate to say it, but Sony really committed to the format. By putting BluRay in every PS3 they were able to get a jump on HD DVD disc sales. The #s are the #s and the studios chose the format that was moving more discs. Had Micro$oft really committed to the format and put a HD DVD player in every XBox 360, the HD DVD format could have emerged victorious. Oh well, I already eBayd my player. Anyone interested in 10 HD DVDs at $10 each? OK how about $8 each?

Jan 6th 2008 1:54AM At $999 for the setop box and $5.99 per movie rental, I expect this thing to be about as popular as Moviebeam. We all know what happened to them.
