Jul 27th 2008 3:45PM Good bye, Netflix. Well, hello Blockbuster!

DISH Network finishes off VOOM, removes last 5 channels {Engadget HD}

May 14th 2008 5:36PM Toolate.

Are you putting us on? Or is this for real?

I hope this is for real. Two days, eh?

DISH Network finishes off VOOM, removes last 5 channels {Engadget HD}

May 14th 2008 4:59PM Brent and Johny Venom are correct. It appears Voom doomed themselves with not meeting Dish's demand one new programming so the fault here does not lie entirely with Dish. Though it would have been nice for subscribers to be warned about yanking the programs entirely.

I'm having withdrawal from the Kung-Fu and Monsters HDs already. So sad. Guess, I'll be spending more time with Niko Bellic for a while.

So sad.

Who in their right mind would buy a Blu-ray player right now? {Engadget HD}

May 2nd 2008 4:54PM In my opinion, price has always been a factor. Another would be how the vast consumer deem as if the machine is "user friendly." Most people probably don't understand or comfortable with hi-def tech stuff so they may have put off putting down a big chunk of money to get something they may not fully understand on how to use it.

As for me, if it weren't for the PS3, I most likely will not be an early adoptee of the Blu-ray format for quite some time. I'm looking to invest in a stand-alone player unit but I'm definitely waiting until all the kinks are ironed out.

Just my two cents.

"Study" finds zany crowd willing to pay $9 for earlier release HD VOD films {Engadget HD}

Apr 29th 2008 6:52PM If I can keep a copy and - say- burn for keep then sure. But if it's only for short term view usage then, no.

Study finds high prices, hamstrung players limiting Blu-ray's dominance {Engadget HD}

Apr 29th 2008 6:48PM This is pretty much a common sense find. Pricing has always been a factor in newly introduced consumer electronics. It has already been demonstrated on the PS3 vs the Wii battle front.

DISH Network launches SCI FI HD and USA HD! {Engadget HD}

Apr 19th 2008 1:30PM Not bad. Not bad. You have slowly restored my faith in you, Charlie! Now, let's really get back on track on getting more HD channels, chap!

DISH Network reaffirms that HD plans are still "on track" {Engadget HD}

Apr 17th 2008 8:11PM Eh! I'll take CNN HD over - say - Sci-Fi HD or USA HD any day. Wait...what am I saying? Charlie has almost brainwashed me with his empty promises. At this point, I'm just waiting for my subscription contract to expire and maybe heading to Direct TV. C'mon, Charlie. Give me back my faith in you, old chap.

Scene selection on Blu-ray {Engadget HD}

Mar 17th 2008 1:50PM A1 beats me to it. Completely agree with him on that. That feature on the PSP should be implemented as standard on the BD.
