It isn't an etirely new motherboard, but rather a daughter-card with CPU+RAM on it. To upgrade RAM, this card has to be replaced with a new one, so most likely it won't be a DIY option.

This is precisely the reason I gave up on Mini 12 (and now Mini 10) and went with Samsung. The CPU-plus-RAM card means that I can't replace/upgrade just the RAM, I have to buy a whole new daughter card (most likely from Dell only).

Feb 8th 2008 4:12PM So I have an iPhone with 1.0.2 firmware and 03.14.08_G baseband (I assume the bootloader is 3.9, can't tell for sure) unlocked and jail broken. Can I use this to upgrade to 1.1.3 (skipping step 2), or does this unlock bring you back to 1.0.2 (which I already have)?
