Burger King selling a Windows 7 Whopper in Japan {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2009 7:54AM We just took the challenge ourselves here in little Denmark in a city called Kolding. In our lunchbreak we went to Burger King with a printed image of the Windows 7 Whopper. At the counter we met with the manager of the kitchen who took our order - Could we please have 5 Windows 7 Whoppers, please. Just the look at her face was worth all the money. She had to call her boss to check if it was doable. She couln't reach her superior so she decided it would be a humorous challenge. Only 3-4 minutes later we got our meat fest. Only one of us finished a complete Windows 7 Whopper and the rest came really close. I'm glad I didn't order Oninion rings and a shake too.
We bow to the winner among us.

Poll: Did you go Blu in 2008? {Engadget HD}
Dec 27th 2008 4:36PM ... still waiting, but 2009 will be the year. Got my first blu movie for Christmas (The Incredible Hulk) and was really a mistake as I do not own any HD hardware.

Ask Engadget HD: What's the best graphics card for my HTPC? {Engadget HD}
Sep 10th 2008 2:56PM The obvious solution is onboard. The 780G chipset handles HD playback perfect. I'd choose the Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard. I know I am :)
For this board you can always add a crossfire graphics card and setup the onboard and add-on card as dual graphics to gain even more power, but it really isn't required.
Digital media revolution to give home servers a shot in the arm? {Engadget HD}
Jul 24th 2008 4:16PM Well, I just finished building my Office/powergaming PC this spring. Now I'm at the HTPC doorstep for the livingroom. After HTPC is at its place under the TV, I really urge for that media/file-server for all my CD's, DVD's and Photos.
Still, I like to have a physical copy of my media. I will never have the feeling of ownership with a download, and I'd rather have the original copy of media than a download burned to a physical media.
Sony's 0.3mm OLED eyes-on {Engadget}
May 28th 2008 4:38PM LOL, I just couldn't stop laughing after reading your post. That is truly an outburst of irritation. LOLOL. Well, I hear you and somewhat I agree. Everybody talk black levels and hopefully OLED or other newer technologies like SED (where the h... did SED go anyway) can once and for all ensure perfect black levels. People buy LCD because the technology is old and easy to maintain in production. The consumers wishes are never a priority. Its all about "He who has most money - wins". So if marketing can pursuade consumers to buy the "wonderful" LCD TV's it is LCD that stays in production and development. Oh, consumer wallets always point in the direction of LCD anyway. I'd bet if OLED technology was able to promise everlasting, non-fading displays close to the LCD prices.... LCD would die instantly.

Nielsen VideoScan High-Def market share for week ending February 17th, 2008 {Engadget HD}
Feb 22nd 2008 6:08PM I guess the HD-DVD giveaways and firesales will push the pie even more red till stock depletes. A lot of retailers are very eager to get rid of HD-DVD.
