Blackberry Bold hands-on {Engadget}
Jun 27th 2008 11:35AM Give me the Blackberry anyday. Apple knows how to lock its customers in and not allow them to go anywhere but back to them. Having a phone that I can't put a new battery in when it's not holding its charge anymore is an automatic deal breaker, and most users in corporate environments have the same exact sentiments. Plus, it's so much easier to navigate the Blackberry with one hand as opposed to the iPhone. The only thing I will give the iPhone a 1up on the Blackberry is its application developement environment.

May 19th 2008 9:56AM The channels that my girlfriend likes to watch are all in SD (MTV, VH1, BET, Lifetime, and the Travel Channel), so when she comes over, I'm stuck watching SD. If it's not on an HD channel, I don't watch it.

Actually, to alleviate black bars from movies would all be dependent on the directors of the films. They're the ones that decide on what aspect ratio they want to shoot their films in. That are no standards for aspect ratios. But there needs to be. See this is where it gets confusing. You can shoot a movie at the full 4K resolution standard, but you can still have a different aspect ratio which can be anything the director chooses. So eventually when TVs get to the 4K resolution, we STILL may not have films that fill up the entire screen.

Dec 31st 2007 11:14AM This may not be important to you, because you, like I, have other alternatives. But for some, they live in rural areas where the choices are not plenty. Or, have you ever taken the time to consider that their friends may live in distant places which inhibits them from linking systems together? When you pay for something, and it doesn't work, you are granted the right to complain. And when a company as BIG as Microsoft is, with billions of dollars in the bank, and you know you're going to have a moderate to high influx of new subscribers to your service, all the necessary precautions should be laid out to circumvent any problems from occurring. But you know that, right????
