Why aren't MTV HD's music videos in high definition? {Engadget HD}
Jun 29th 2009 12:38AM I actually read the article. The author of the article, Michael, actually advocates "stretch-o-vision" like TBS, TNT and The Cartoon Network do with 4:3 programming. Michael actually mentions the stretching of "Family Guy" as a good thing. Michael isn't complaining about the lack of HD. He's complaining about black bars. It was complaints from people like this that drove A&E and its sister networks (Biography, History, Crime and Punishment) to go to stretch-o-vision.
Michael should check out Palladia. Palladia shows HD videos from MTV, VH1 and CMT at the same wee hours of the morning that VH1, MTV and CMT show their SD videos.

May 21st 2009 1:26PM Triad does make great in-wall speakers. RBH and BG Audio do as well, but I believe the poster wanted a set for UNDER $1k. Speakercraft (for stereo as full surround won't be doable for $1k) and The Speaker Company (tSC) are great options.
If on-walls are also an option, consider Axiom.
I do believe the consensus for 5.0/7.0 under $1k should be The Speaker Company. (Of course, if you have to do it for under $200, Monoprice and Diesel Audio are probably your only options.)

Mar 25th 2009 4:55PM Actually, the Jack's (Playground, T**n America, etc.) titles aren't so filtered. If you really want things unfiltered, yet high quality, check out Anabolic's titles. Be warned: the ladies of Anabolic aren't the best looking. Watching them on screen might remind you of your own encounters of taking what you can get at the bar around closing time!

Mar 11th 2009 10:00AM I'm hoping this is just the ultimate, small cheap media extender for playing music, video(MPEG2, DivX, H.264, VC1/WMV, AMV, Quicktime, etc.) and other random media from a network share. Too bad it lacks component outputs for older HDTV's!
