Ask Engadget HD: What's the best movie rental service? {Engadget HD}

Nov 5th 2008 12:39PM I am using Blockbuster right now. I will switch to Netflix when I get my TivoHD so that I can stream HD movies whenever I want them. This will be the best of all worlds. In-store exchange has been very compelling for me. This way I can watch whatever I want instantly (or whenever it downloads) Bye-Bye Blockbuster.

NBC cans two Heroes producers {TV Squad}

Nov 3rd 2008 5:22PM I love Heroes. I love the sci-fi and I like the comic book genre. I don't think there are two many characters. If you want less to keep track of, then watch Two and a Half Men. I agree that the show has many flaws and failures.

Traveling to Africa has been boring. Almost as boring as Hiro in feudal Japan. These story lines can be completed in one episode.

Let people die. Sure, make Claire special, but I better not see Adam again. Move the story along.

And the time travel is not a good plot device. These people are supposed to have amazing abilities. Continue to make the show about that and less about what may happen in some sort of future butterfly effect reality in the future.

I agree that the producers should have been let go. This is an amazing franchise. It would be extremely disappointing if Heroes was not picked up for a fourth and fifth season. Let the series end with a proper finale and wrap up.

Is Blu-ray destined to become a "videophile niche?" {Engadget HD}

Oct 28th 2008 5:11PM My father-in-law has a beautiful 52" Samsung LCD. I am having a difficult time providing him a compelling reason to upgrade to a Blu-Ray deck even at $200. Yes, he is an average consumer. He does not have a McIntosh driving his audio. His DVD player is "Good enough" for watching movies on Saturday night.

Nip/Tuck and Damages return in January - VIDEOS {TV Squad}

Oct 27th 2008 3:53PM Why not have a split season like many of the USA programs? This way the story lines won't be forgotten by the smaller audiences. This might even attract larger audiences, who knows.

I am also sorry that the Riches was canceled as well. I think that this was collateral damage from the writers strike, and should have been afforded another chance.

As for Nip/Tuck. This has always been a favorite of mine. I just want it to push the envelope as much as it did when the show first grabbed me. I want ti to finish strong and not just phone in the last episodes.

Giveaway Tuesday: Mad Men DVD gift packages {TV Squad}

Oct 21st 2008 10:28AM Mad Men rocks. It's the best show on television, including Lost!

Mad Men: The Mountain King {TV Squad}

Oct 20th 2008 4:47PM I'm right there. This is a show that I share with all of my friends, whether they have seen it or not. This is a great community to talk about the themes and issues surrounding the times.

The Office: Baby Shower {TV Squad}

Oct 17th 2008 11:24AM Sure, a new mother deserves some time away and to rest. No one disputes how much hard work she has done. But Jan asking Michael for help when she does not trust him to father a child, be a part of the delivery, or even hold the child is unfair. If she wants help, then she has to let him in.

Mad Men: The Jet Set {TV Squad}

Oct 13th 2008 1:32PM That was my first thought. But why would she be out in California? Where is Don from? Looks like Don is going into Deep Cover.

Giveaway Monday: Back to You season one DVD {TV Squad}

Oct 13th 2008 1:29PM I watched this show because I am such a big fan of Kelsey Grammer. I thought it had good timing and worked well.

Mad Men: The Jet Set {TV Squad}

Oct 13th 2008 10:50AM It seems that this is a vacation from Don's life. I am not convinced that these people are rich. The whole thing smelled of a long con or just plain grifters. Don did not seem to care, he still got a chance to completely escape and become someone new.

Duck's play was in desperation. He is at the end of his rope. Two weeks ago, we saw Freddy get canned and everyone said he was "finished." While Duck has gotten a second chance at Sterling Cooper, he may not get a third at another firm. Duck has to make this work.

Pete does not fit in with LA. He then rejects it. He always reacts to a situation rather than creating his own fate.

I think this was a great episode with a welcome change of scenery. But Don has to go back to NY. The show is called Mad Men where New York is the center of the universe.
