MEdia Net, R.I.P.: 2004 - 2009? {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 23rd 2009 12:44AM yes, but the problem is that both are labled "unlimited", so why should i have to pay more for data, regardless of how much is used since both are unlimited, just because its a smart phone? thats like charging someone with a flip phone more for an unlimited plan because they may use more minutes because the phone is more conftorable to talk on than a bar.

If its because they assume more usage, then they should just sell data in buckets like they do minutes. say 500mb for 10, 1 gb for 15, 2gb for 20, 4gb for 30, 6gb for 40, and "unlimited" for 55 and let us use our data how we see fit, whether on a pda, dumbphone, or data card.

Iron Man's Blu-ray release manages 20 percent of DVD's market share {Engadget HD}

Oct 8th 2008 2:15PM well first off this is showing that there has been some growth with blu, which is good, I want to continue see titles being released on the format. But what I don't understand is why some people feel the need to preach at every oppurtunity about how Blu-ray will fail. If it's too expensive for you, or you don't want to upgrade or wait for something better, that's fine, but I don't get the need to continually preach of it's demise. I mean during laserdisc or divx were guys also preaching how it wouldn't go mainstream? And what also bugs me is the continuation of comparing blu to DVD, at this point in time it is no comparison and won't be for some time, so what exactly is the point on coming on here and preaching that since DVD did over a billion in sales that blu is meaningless? We now that what ever blu sells it won't be anything close to DVD and it won't be for a while if ever, so no need to continually bring it up. Also most sales are during the first week of release for DVD as well, when the nielson list comes out you'll see all the new releases at the top. As for the people who wait for the price to drop, don't you think if these people have the patience to wait a few weeks to save $5-10 that they probably also be waiting for blu-ray to drop as well?

-end rant
