Maingear SHIFT reviewed: $7,000 can shatter a lot of records {Engadget}

China's GAPP halts WoW review, calls collecting subscriptions "illegal behavior" {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2009 4:08PM Wow, so far you're the only ones to mention that. That is a surprise tbh.

Ohh, what's really going to bake your noodle later on is, would they have actually mentioned it if you hadn't said anything?

Ghostcrawler and the "hybrid tax" {WoW}

Oct 27th 2009 4:08PM That's sure to stir up some rage.
I've got to agree though. Having played mostly hybrid classes, having the option to switch between roles really is worth whatever small amount of performance difference there might be. Besides, it seems like the gap can usually be closed by personally performing better.
Still, Ghostcrawler might need to hire a bodyguard after this one.

The Queue: Windows 7 and the Kalu'ak {WoW}

Oct 27th 2009 2:17PM I have 2 computers running Vista 64 and WoW and it works just fine. I previously had 2 XP machines and the only difference is where the game installs to on Vista (which is only really important when I'm updating addons etc).

World of Warcraft comic splits into Horde and Alliance {WoW}

Oct 22nd 2009 12:11PM I loved seeing the noble side of the Horde, even going back to the WC3 campaign and agree that the way it should be presented is that you have 2 different factions, not necessarily a good and a bad side.
However, I recently got my first Horde character to 80 (have a few Alli in Northrend already) and I know that there are quests for both sides doing some questionable things (aside from, you know killing, because we're all desensitized to regular slaying apparently :P ), but the way the quests are presented sure makes you feel like a whole lot of the Horde is made up of bad guys. It's further emphasized of course by the visual style of just about everything Horde side - blood red, spikes, spikes with blood, skulls, skulls with spikes, and blood, hunchbacks on almost every male character, you get the picture.
So, while I disagree with the stereotype of the Horde being a dumb and savage, well, horde, the game reinforces it so much I think it's hard to make that case to people who haven't seen more of the story.

Blizzard warns against buying gold {WoW}

Oct 21st 2009 1:56PM By the same logic then, A1CYancy, any time something is challenging or perceived as time consuming in a game, the devs put it there to encourage people to hack/cheat or otherwise bypass the mechanics of the game to achieve their end goal?
I'll have to remember that next time I'm on Unreal ... "Epic allowed you to move so fast because they expected me to use an aim-bot!"
Or in Super Mario Bros - "Nintendo put those fixed speed levels (where you can't progress faster than the game allows) in because they expected me to speed hack the game in an emulator when playing the game."
See where that breaks down?

As far as them being "mad" about not being able to gain from buying gold ... they're the one entity that can absolutely without a doubt gain from it. If they started selling it, they would gain, but they chose not to. Where does the anger come into play?

Blizzard warns against buying gold {WoW}

Oct 21st 2009 1:48PM Good idea.
Then in their battle against power leveling services, they'll make you hit level 80 30 seconds after you log into a newly created character.

Hallow's End 2009 first impressions {WoW}

Oct 18th 2009 5:29PM I had a high school teacher who was kind to his wife, opening car doors, helping her get her coat on etc. A student made fun of him, saying he was "whipped".
His reply "It's called being a gentlemen. Maybe one day when you learn that, you'll actually get a girlfriend."
I don't think I really need to add anything more to that.

Guildwatch: "My laywer is processing a subpoena" {WoW}

Oct 14th 2009 5:39PM Definitely agree with you. I listed for a few minutes and thought surely the comedy must be coming soon and it never did.
So ... a guild does well in PvP (and is arrogant about it) and ninjas stuff (and is proud about that too) and they're jerks. Right ... ok ... that was so worth listening to. People who really get on ego-trips about that stuff like they do almost make me feel embarrassed for them ... almost.
