Counting up 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 more Shaman complaints {WOW Insider}
Feb 19th 2008 8:50AM Lol, yeh the water shield is nice. I'm not high enough in lvl to use it so I do not really know hos nice it is, but I see other lvl 70 shamans using it constantly to keep up their mana lvl. Looks like it does the trick, but isn't that being tuned down as well in the next patch?
How to use the Lunar Festival for easy lowbie travel {WOW Insider}
Feb 18th 2008 3:04PM Lunar Festival really is a great way to get a leg on travel with a low level alt. Considering starting a new alt? Now is the time to do it as you can easily get them to other major cities, and then come back to them and play when you actually have time for them, but having the major cities, and surrounding fp's already mapped out.
Tharfor, his mouth, his foot, and shamans {WOW Insider}
Feb 13th 2008 6:29PM from reading the replies a ton of you guys think that whiners suck, and they do! No one likes a whiner, however it seems to be real easy for you guys looking from the outside in to whine about the whiner!
Seriously, in PVP shamans have a bad deal! I'm not the best wow player out there, but something is wrong when players with absolutely no skill can render a shaman dead simply b/c he can't fight back. Check out the earlier post on the art of Warcraft: http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/02/12/the-art-of-war-craft-motion-theory-part-ii/
in that article it's clear to see just how underpowered a shaman is compared to a druid and other classes. As an enhancement shaman once a player capable of getting me into an stunned, or any other snare and I'm practically finished! It's very frustrating and I don't do much complaining, but after reading that article it's easy to see why I die as often as I do.
Ask Engadget HD: Is it finally safe to buy a Blu-ray player? {Engadget HD}
Feb 13th 2008 5:21PM Go with the PS3 as it's a Blu-ray player first, and a game console second. It's the most promising for getting updates, and is pretty future proof with a hard drive and ethernet. Only draw back is the remote, but it's not that expensive, works great, but doesn't intergrate with Harmony remotes yet (b/c it's bluetooth based). I don't think that I would count HD-DVD as totally dead. I think Toshiba would make the best Combo players when the towel is "thrown" in. I went the cheapest route supporting both formats with the PS3, and the HD-DVD 360 add-on. I don't feel that I wasted any money b/c I have been able to get any movie regardless of which format it was released on. I also do not feel that my purchases have been wasted as one format prevails over the other as there is still use for my players and movies. I just wouldn't go and get an expensive Blu-ray player though as there is no telling what the formats final specs are going to be. So for me and anyone who ask the PS3 is the best choice hands down for now.
Finally, a full-function IR remote solution for the PS3 {Engadget HD}
Jan 26th 2008 3:46PM If they really wanted to push the industry towards bluetooth tech instead of IR, or RF they would put bluetooth tech in their Televisions as well as their standalone Blu-ray players. I think this was a cheap way of getting out of including another hardware piece in an all ready bloated and costly console. I find that it works great, but suck for me and other all in one "harmony" remote users.
CNN, Golf / Versus finally added to Cox's New Orleans lineup {Engadget HD}
Jan 14th 2008 3:27PM I have noticed for the last couple of weeks that we have had the Golf HD channel available down here in New Orleans, but I have not seen the CNN HD channel. I haven't been watching that much TV though lately. I'll check the Tivo HD when I get home.
Warner's remaining HD DVD support will include a three week delay? {Engadget HD}
Jan 11th 2008 2:12PM I agree with the whole why lie to the consumer for the months leading up to the holiday shopping season and then dropping the axe on HD-DVD support. No matter how hard you try to spin it that interest of the consumer was not considered otherwise warner would remain format neutral. But the interest of the consumer never was really considered or we would have had 1 format and called it Blu-DVD. Doesn't really matter though since digital downloads are really going to be knocking on Blu-ray and HD-DVD's doors very soon! Like previous post have said, does it really matter who wins the battle if they are both going to lose the war?
BD+ has not been compromised, yet {Engadget HD}
Jan 10th 2008 12:01AM Mike, I'm afraid you need to do your research as I see that one of the newest Blu-ray releases that also uses profile 1.1 Resident Evil: Extinction is ripped, re-encoded and available for download in WMV-HD format(and numerous others formats). Source says it came from the Blu-ray disc. As far as a protection technology being compromised as opposed to cracked their is technically a difference which boils down to how much work is needed to break new versions and what not. But either way the warez scene doesn't lie they just do it! Nothing is totally secure especially if there is a way to retrieve it to begin with. And what good is it to brag that BD+ hasn't been cracked when the latest movie titles are still easily ripped and repackaged for download?
