Amazon BOGO excels HD movies to number one for the first time ever {Engadget HD}
Dec 27th 2007 7:55PM Nfinity, I couldn't have said it any better.
Prey521, stop referring to people as 'bots'. You don't seem to care about Hidef and you probably don't buy a lot of HD DVD movies. Are you an Xbox 360 owner? If you are then your reply makes a lot of sense. If you are not a 360 owner then I warn you not to buy one. They have a hardware problem called RROD and the HD DVD add-on has given a lot of X360 owners headaches.

Dec 27th 2007 7:25PM A link to the story is good enough but when you copy and paste the entire article then you are spamming. In another recent article Universal compared Spiderman 3 sales to Bourne sales. Why don't they compare Bourne sales (60,000) to Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 sales (160, 000).
Wait for the official numbers and not the numbers that Universal Pictures makes up to cover their weekly losses to Blu-ray. Remember when Paramount made up those Transformers numbers.

Dec 27th 2007 7:17PM Wow I'm shocked. HD DVD people actually bought movies rather than let their players collect dust. The important thing is that Blu-ray continues to win week after week. Even if they do have a strong December they won't have any impact in the first quarter of 08. Don't believe me? Go check out the releases for Blu-ray and HD DVD in the first quarter of '08 and you will see why.

Looks like the HD DVD camp will have a lot of BOGOs and when Blu-ray has them then HD DVD will whine as usual.
Toshiba's HD-D3 going for $100 on Boxing Day {Engadget HD}
Dec 24th 2007 11:43AM I agree with Mike. If it were those 1080P players then I would line up as well but I'm not going to freeze my ass off for a 720p player. F*** that.

Dec 20th 2007 12:13PM PlayStation 3 is the best player right now because you can upgrade to all the new and coming features (1.1 and 2.0 in the near future) with firmware upgrades.
Blade Runner Blu-ray Complete Edition arriving with botched Workprint disc? {Engadget HD}
Dec 20th 2007 1:28AM Another way to be sure is that disc 5 is now so high in the picture quality department while disc 1 looks superb.

Dec 17th 2007 10:15AM What do you mean Fox is not supporting Blu-ray? The Simpsons movie is bigger than Once and will definitely be a huge seller. Independence Day was put on hold because it had some issues on 3% of the Blu-ray players out there but will make it Q1 2008. CES 2008 will be interesting indeed. I don't see FOX switching but Warner may end this war by going Blu because if they go red then this war will drag on for a lot longer.
I wonder who won for last week.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix HD DVD to debut new online community features {Engadget HD}
Nov 22nd 2007 11:06AM This is the only thing HD DVD can offer, good luck with the lags. In the coming months it's going to be really hard finding good movies on HD DVD because they are all on Blu ray.
HD DVD and Blu-ray releases on November 20th, 2007 {Engadget HD}
Nov 19th 2007 3:06PM I'm glad to be on the Blu side. That Die hard collection is all mine and Hairspray got good reviews on Blu-ray so I may consider it for my Mom. I think Rescue Dawn was delayed. Someone mentioned Lord of the Rings. It's by New Line, the same studio responsible for Hairspray and I think they are owned by Warner. It will be out on both formats unless Warner decides to pick one format. I really want LOTR in HD. My Dad would love that Star Trek set so I may buy a cheap HD DVD player when it goes on sale again and it will because Blu ray is destroying them at the moment.
According to an article I read from the Blu ray festival a few weeks back, Star Wars episodes 1-3 (the not so great trilogy) was previewed on Blu ray and is most likely coming out next year. The Matrix tril was delayed and will get the green light once that new blu ray profile is out because there is a PIP commentary in that collection and Warner realizes that they shouldn't disappoint the Blu ray crowd by taking out key features like on 300 which ironically sold more on Blu ray.
Poll: Where do you stand in the format war? {Engadget HD}
Nov 14th 2007 1:36PM I hope Blu ray wins because it has better movies than HD DVD so far and the games for my PS3 in the future will really require the full storage of the Blu ray disc.
Cars, Ratatouille and the Spiderman Trilogy is what I really recommend to you Blu-Ray owners. The Simpsons movie, Lost season 3, Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy and Harry Potter Limited box set are all on my list for the holidays.
