WD unveils new My Books with e-paper, while My Passport shrinks even further {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2009 12:30PM Hopefully the idiot designers decided to make the SATA port holes larger. Stupid me purchased two of their previous models and both of them had to have the SATA ports enlarged in order to stick a cable into it and have it run reliably.

Leica M9 microsite and brochure leaked, new X1 details in tow {Engadget}

Sep 8th 2009 4:16PM I'm pretty sure this is uses a Canon 18MP sensor. The brochure specs had it down for 18MP and I remember reading that Canon and Leica might have been doing some type of deal together. If the camera didn't cost so much (that little round Leica tag that's on the front costs $3000 itself) I'd really want one.

Logitech G27 racing wheel impressions {Engadget}

Aug 26th 2009 1:17PM I have the Porsche steering wheel from Fanatec and it's fantastic. Granted, though, I was an early (read dummy) adopter and got the one without the power on/off switch (stupid design) and no Xbox 360 support (ARGH!) not to mention the high price.

Garmin launches Dakota line of handheld GPS units for the great outdoors {Engadget}

Jun 26th 2009 12:08PM No compass? The Dakota 20 has a 3 axis compass so it doesn't have to be held level and you can use it while standing still. That sounds like the one to get.

Garmin launches Dakota line of handheld GPS units for the great outdoors {Engadget}

Jun 26th 2009 11:57AM Wow. Should I be saying goodbye to my 60CSx? I do like that smaller size.

GigaPan Epic 100 hands-on and review, panorama style {Engadget}

May 29th 2009 6:30PM This is response to hansning:

I've seen pictures where the person said they used a Nikon D3! I just can't imagine it fitting. It is supposed to work with small DSLR's and lenses for a total weight of up to 3 pounds. The 75-150 lens is an old manual lens that's lightweight and best of all, skinny enough to fit between the shutter button assembly plate that's on the Gigapan.

The mount that the SLR sits atop though does bend because of the weight, so even if the Gigapan is level the camera is tilting somewhat. My philosophy is to just try it and see if it works. If it does great, if it doesn't, well, at least you tried.

Bridgestone's 13-inch color e-paper display handles pen input, has the future written all over it {Engadget}

Apr 17th 2009 6:16PM Yet another e-ink announcement of a product that won't reach market for a million years.

Nintendo shares fall after surprising drop in Wii demand {Engadget}

Apr 17th 2009 6:05PM Not sure if Nintendo realizes but the drop in sales could possibly be caused by a lousy economy? Just throwing that out there. Also, the lack of 1080 or even 720p might finally be rearing its ugly head as people are switching TV's in preparation to digital TV and realizing how lousy the Wii looks. Another thing is that people want things that are unobtainable or hard to get. The Wii fit that profile perfectly. Now that you can find it in almost any Target or Walmart, who cares about it anymore? Finally, as others have said, market saturation.
