Should the NBA Raise the Age Limit ? {Blog Maverick}
Apr 11th 2008 1:31AM I think the bigger issue is that we have 18 and 19 year olds (disclaimer: I'm 19) who aren't ready for life. I'm not entirely ready for life, but I know how to balance my finances, I know how to organize bill payments, and I know how to do many normal things that come at me in life. I can do all these things, and I still live with my parents. The reason for this is that my parents sought to make sure I knew how to do necessary tasks and how to get by in important areas of life. My parents have taught me how to find out most things I don't know how to do. And when I don't know how to do something and can't seem to figure it out, they help me with it. What this comes down to is a word that most parents don't fully understand, despite its close relationship with them: parentING. I'm not saying that every HS grad needs to know every life skill. And I know that every individual comes from a unique background and we can't expect the same things from everyone. What I am saying is that if more parents did their job after their kids were born, the maturity level wouldn't matter, since this post would only be able to talk about the exceptions rather than the majority of the young, prospective players.

Do you want to rent your music? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Apr 3rd 2007 8:05PM I heard this on Macbreak Weekly:
We should (ideally) have all songs and albums at future pricing model for EMI. Albums at discount, individual tracks at a slight premium for DRM-free music at higher quality. The flip side would be to still allow for the lower quality DRM tracks on a subscription basis.
As for my own idea, I think that we should at least have the option of subscribing or not. Everyone says we shouldn't, but it's not like playsforsure requires us to subscribe. People who like the current model would simply stick with it. Those that like subscription would subscribe. It's already what people do, only it'll just mean that you can subscribe to a service with your iPod.
The Office: Phyllis' Wedding {TV Squad}
Feb 9th 2007 12:15AM I think that they should have taken the over-the-top moments of Michael (I thought some of them were really funny) and used them for Stanley or Ryan/Kelly. This would have been a perfect episode for an awkward Ryan/Kelly moment.
