Poll: What part of your home theater is getting upgraded this holiday season? {Engadget HD}
Oct 12th 2009 3:21PM I'll be upgrading my HTPC box from VMC to Windows 7 sometime in November, and if the Ceton cablecard tuner becomes available before 2010, I'll probably get one of those, budget permitting.

Linksys discontinues its Extenders for Media Center {Engadget HD}
May 18th 2009 8:37AM I've been using a couple of DMA2200s on my Vista64 media center box for a month or so now, using 802.11n. They work surprisingly well, considering they're Linksys. Newegg and others are selling the 2200 for around $140, a good price considering that it includes an upconverting DVD player.
If your VMC box has multiple tuners (especially if they support clear QAM), this is a good solution for extending cable TV access to rooms not wired for cable -- the extender can use one of the tuners in the VMC box, and the signal will be streamed over the network to the extender. Quite a bit easier than stringing coax.
AirTran brings Gogo in-flight WiFi to every single flight {Engadget}
May 12th 2009 12:49PM I'll be flying AirTran next week for a long Memorial Day weekend-- maybe I'll get a chance to try it out. They're a good low fare airline, and I use them whenever I can. For example, when I booked next week's trip last week, I managed to get a round trip from Atlanta to Ft. Myers, FL for under $150. Not bad for a holiday weekend.

Dec 1st 2008 8:16AM I get the impression that Apple was in on the joke -- here in Atlanta, there were at least two Apple commercials during the episode.
