New cars coming in Forza Motorsport 2 March Car Pack {Autoblog}

Mar 18th 2008 3:21AM Well said about the the unnecessary variations. This tends to happen most with the Japanese cars I have noticed too. I'm just going to stick my two cents in here too. I loved GT2 on the playstation. It was fantastic. I played GT3 A-spec, and that was great too. Then I got an Xbox and played Forza as well. Throughout my limited driving career (Which involves driving around town and though the bends in the canyon in my veritable backyard.) I can say with confidence that the Forza series just feels more natural in terms of driving and grip physics. The sense of speed seems a bit off to me though. I will say I haven't driven an Elise like I do in the GT5 downloadable demo off of PSN, but that feels so much more unrealistic than the Elise in Forza, that it jars me. It's too tail happy around the bends in comparison, and if I can take the Type-R as an example, which I have driven through the canyon a few times; when I play Forza, the car just feels right. I realize it may all be subjective, and an opinion, but I really do have to disagree with the author of this post. Forza is just a better game to me in the simulation department as a direct result of my experiences.

I really would LOVE to see a definitive and scientific shootout between the two. Same cars in Real life, same cars in the game, and the same drivers offering up their opinions overall about which "feels" more correct. I'd bet my money (and have) that Forza is the more accurate.

Forza Motorsports 2 demo now available for free on XBLM {Autoblog}

The demo is free, all you need is an XBL silver account to download things off of the marketplace, not a gold one.

@autoblog

go out and buy the racing wheel and the VGA cable for the 360. Hook it up to your computer monitor capable of at least a 1280x1024 resolution, and bask in HD glory, while feathering the throttle on the exit and feeling the tires start to slip through the wheel. You'll thank yourself later, even though you'll be spending a pretty nice chunk of change for everything.

Forbes ranks Top 10 video games for drivers {Autoblog}

Oct 6th 2006 7:44PM This is the worst list I have ever seen. Here's a real and correct list of the best racers of time.

1. Forza Motorsport. (for you GT fanboys, you can't take number one because of Forza's Damage modeling, and online racing. Not to mention is has ACTUAL porsche's.

2. Gran Turismo 2. (Haven't played 4 so I won't put it there objectively, and 3 didn't have the number of cars that 2 did.

3. Rallisport Challenge. I don't care if you hate xbox THIS is the best standalone rally game out there. It feels fast and accurate unlike colin mcrae.

4. Need For Speed: Most Wanted. Awesome game. great handling easy to pick up and play.

5. Burnout: Revenge. Two words. Speed. Crashes. buy this one NOW.

6. Midnight Club 2. The first one to get open world racing done RIGHT.

7. MotoGP. For the Bikers out there. The right mix of Simulation and forgiveness.

8. Need For Speed; High Stakes. This was awesome back in the day. I gave it to MW just because it's more easy to buy nowadays, but the multiplayer pink slip races were GOLD. You'll never forget the moment you won your friends corvette, only to lose your 911 in the next race.

9. Pole Position. Awesome game, but like all classics, it was only the tip of the iceberg.

10. Sega GT. This was a pretty cool game. kept me sane while I watched the dreamcast wither and die.

As for Live For Speed, i haven't tried it, but I will shortly. After I finish watching my top gear episode.

Aug 28th 2006 4:09PM You guys are some of the luckiest S.O.B.s on this earth. Drive that car like it was meant to be driven!!!

Also, I'm gonna stay optimistic and the car will be with few, if any, mechanical troubles.

High definition DVD war over? HP formally asks Blu-ray group to add Managed Copy, iHD to spec {Engadget HD}

Oct 20th 2005 12:04AM I can't beleive the industry is choosing Blue-Ray. Sony has always been disgustingly greedy in prices for their proprietary formats, and now they just handed it away. Watch how expensive this stuff will be.
