Toshiba's survey: HD DVD will win - Blu-ray Association survey: Blu-ray will win {Engadget HD}

Sony Pictures: At least two 50GB Blu-ray releases by year-end, no BD-J until 2007 {Engadget HD}
Aug 26th 2006 3:38AM They succeeded everytime they had major support by other manufactures and studios. Oh wait Blu-Ray has the most support from studios and everyone else except Toshiba on the manufacturing side is on the Blu-Ray camp. Wait until Blu-Ray players flutter the market, people will forget HDDVD even existed. We're getting like 4 players by the end of the year! One being the Blu-Ray assasin the PS3.
Buying an HDDVD is like throwing your money away just to watch universal studios movies until it dies off. You'll me missing out on a lot of great titles. The PS3 is really your safest bet, even if blu-ray rails the PS3 is an incredible piece of tech that will continue to use the format for it's games. You can't lose.
PS3 needs adapter for PS2 memory cards? {Engadget}

Oh yeah, Engadget loves to hate the PS3.

I completely agree #25
You will never get decent news about Sony on any of the Weblogs sites:
This includes:
Joystiq
Engadget and the rest of the ones mentioned below.
If you like Sony I suggest you run, check out psp.qj.net and which is really pspupdates.com, or even playstaion.qj.net, here is where you get the latest and greatest Sony news plus somewhat objective reviews.
These guys have a hard time paying their bills if they don?t post negative things about Sony products. Just look at PSPFanboy all their post are negative rumors and reviews (opposite reviews to other major gaming sites) and most the readers have abandon it.
First impression: Ratchet and Clank {Joystiq Playstation}

The Engadget & Joystiq Interview: Microsoft's Shane Kim {Engadget}
May 16th 2006 10:55PM Well if you call
* lied about GTA4 (or mislead if you prefer).
* Showing a 1 min video of halo 3 which didn't display any gameplay and even looked like a cutscene otherwise known as a cheap attempt to display something about their only killer title.
* disaplying Gears of war which seemed to have horrible frame rates and blood just for the sake of blood. This is not a killer title. It doesn?t have a past to be one. If you say it is then Resistance, Assassin?s Creed and Heavenly sword are killer titles for PS3.
* give a 30 min speech about Live Anywhere which no gamer at the show was interested in by the guy who signs Engadget?s writers paycheck.
If you call that winning the show then MS did win. But I just don?t see it.
Nintendo:
* Showed Mario
* Showed Zelda
* Showed Metroid
* Ok I admit, horrible graphics on both the tennis and red steel. My god they were ugly.
* Miyamoto, a legend in gaming, orchestrating the theme to Zelda.
* Up-spirit execs playing Tennis
* ok so no one cared about their 24 hour alive speech feature but at least it wasn?t long.
Sony:
* Price Release: A shocker
* Hard Drive included: A shocker
* Motion Sensing: Shocker, had everyone talking and the reviews are in It?s great (see IGN and Gamespot. Don?t look at sites own by MS please)
* FFXIII: probably the game that will sell the more systems than any other game on any system. The reason PS3 won E3 in for the Japanese and RPG gamers worldwide.
* Playable games: Shocker, everyone doubt it them because of blogs like engadget.
* GT HD running at 1080P 60FPS: Shocker, everyone doubt it them because of blogs like engadget and MS rumors.
* I admit besides FFXIII and MGS4 there were no more killer games showed. No RE, No God of War, no GTA4, no true new Gran Turismo so I think this is what hurt them the most. But this is much better than what MS has to offer.
BTW, Endadget is long known to be a bias. However it does have great articles on gadgets!
Sony won't be able to meet Blu-ray demand? {Engadget}
May 16th 2006 10:23PM OK more bias comments coming from engadget.
The article said Electronic components (could be for LED and other such circuit components) and that cell phones play a big role in that because they are selling at exponential rates. They are the most sold electronic products after all. They don?t just affect Blu-Ray but all electronics. Please read the article not Engadget's bias post:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1960283,00.asp
BTW for those yapping about HDDVD please note that the PS3 takes away the price advantage of HDDVD so for those who were wishing that this what's going to get HDDVD to win, I am sorry to inform you that this will not be so anymore. It will actually be considered more expensive to go and buy a $500 HD-DVD without 1080p (toshiba's 500 doesn?t support 1080p their 750 unit does) instead of a $499 PS3 or even the higher priced PS3.
And don?t mention the 360 + add-on deal because it was just reported that price will most likely be $250-300. $400(360) + $250-300(add-on) = $650-700 (and that's probably without 1080P support, eek!)
So quit your whining and let it play out. By the way every time a new format comes out someone comes out and says we don?t need better quality or more space (Tapes to CD to DVD) but when they start using the format they can?t imagine how they lived without it (imagine no DVD today :-O ) but then a new format again shows it?s head and that someone again claims that we don?t need the space or the boost in image quality. I wonder when that someone will learn. And BTW all new HD players will support DVD so you don?t have to throw or replace those ever if you don?t want to.
The Engadget & Joystiq Interview: Microsoft's Shane Kim {Engadget}
May 16th 2006 9:35PM What the Heck? Were you paid to say that? That is ludicrus.
Most polls show Nintendo one followed by Sony. MS was left in the dust. There is no exitement in a system that is already out. And in Japan Sony won hands down:
http://1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3150896
Thats right 8/10 of the best things at E3 are PS3 related.
Is Engadget owned by Microsoft? They seem to be very biased. I know Joystiq hates sony, you just have to look at nothing but negative untrue things they say about the PS3. They even had an article that said the controller was garbage meanwhile Every other respectible news site reported that it is actually incredibly good.
So should I boycott Engadget as I have done Joystiq or are they more objective?
