Component looks better than HDMI on Samsung's BD-P1000 {Engadget HD}
Jun 28th 2006 7:28PM derek above says that 1080i HDMI looks as good as component. Bill Hunt mentioned that he was trying 1080p. Now I've heard that this player converts from 1080p (for 1080p encoded discs) to 1080i, and then back again to 1080p. Maybe it's this 1080p conversion that's causing the quality loss, not the hdmi output itself? Just a thought.
