Sirius XM iPhone app is now live, streaming {Engadget}

Jun 18th 2009 11:15AM I downloaded it and tried it, but iTMS won't let me add a review. Looks like damage control has been enabled, as it's showed 421 reviews for the last hour with no new ones added.

"Jesus, we fucked up...grab the broom, dustpan, and lock all the doors!!! Quick, hide under the bed until the angry mob goes away!"

Jun 18th 2009 10:57AM Don't bother calling Howard to complain...they'll just dump your call. Instead, use Twitter, here, Facebook, Customer Service calls, and emails to complain. Don't just let Sirius know your displeasure, be sure to let *everyone* know. I pay $26 a month, and yet time and time again Sirius keeps putting their hand out for more. I'm waiting for the 1.2.5 version of the app, that should include Howard, before I threaten to cancel. Sad to watch a company shoot themselves in the foot like this.

Mar 12th 2009 5:20PM Yes, businesses that venture into other markets are failures. This explains the iPod, iPhone, and Hitachi construction equipment.

Thanks for the insight.

Mar 12th 2009 3:44PM Pandora doesn't offer news, traffic reports, live DJ's (if you were alive in the 80's you remember making requests and dedications), talk radio, or Playboy radio. Nor is it available in HighQuality unless you're connected via WiFi.

Mar 12th 2009 3:41PM The ToS have always forbidden 3rd party apps. It did so when I first subbed in 2005, as I read it when I began using SiriusMac, then later on StarPlayr. This is nothing new.

Mar 12th 2009 3:39PM Comparing Pandora to live Sirius radio is akin to comparing Netflix to digital cable. Use whatever works for you, but for the last 6 months I get my Sirius in the car, in the wife's car, in the living room, in my office, and on my iPhone. Sirius, in my case, has better coverage for my needs than Pandora or even FM radio (high-floor office, surrounded by TV broadcasting towers).

StarPlayr was the bomb (I was on the beta team), but Sirius put the squash on the approval process. It wasn't *rejected*, but rather placed into a state of purgatory. The resulting fallout caused the disbanding of the programming team and cancellation of all StarPlayr products.

I'm curious to see if they just stole StarPlayr. I can't imagine any corporation putting together an app better than those 4 guys did. Whatever they do/did, they need to step it up. They've got 8 months...that's when my beta app expires.

Lost & Damned to add new hip-hop music, TV content and commercials {Joystiq}

Feb 5th 2009 4:52PM I'm *dying* for a game to integrate SiriusXM streaming. What would be better than 100+ music/talk channels? I commend publishers for breaking new artists and introducing me to new tracks, but that's essentially what SiriXM does, and I don't have to rely on someone else to pick a finite, repetitive playlist. Most of the time I'm listening to SiriXM on my iPhone while driving around Liberty City with the game music muted.

HEAR ME!!! (please?)
