Toshiba applies for BDA admission, Blu-ray players and laptops coming soon {Engadget HD}

Aug 10th 2009 1:05PM Would love a new dual format player from Toshiba to make sure I can keep playing all my HDDVD's for a long time :) Would go nicely with my LG BH200, but I guess that will probably not happen.

Sony Pictures responds to your poll results, discusses the future of BD-Live {Engadget HD}

May 11th 2009 5:12PM As a European/Norwegian who orders a lot of blu's from the states, there is one BD-live posibility I would love to see implemented on every US disk release. Thats the posibility to download norwegian subtitles. That would make my wife watch all the movies I buy... I wouldnt even mind paying a few cents extra for that service :-)

LG's BD300 available and in the wild {Engadget HD}

Oct 14th 2008 4:01PM Wish they would update their old flagship model, the BH200, to support BD-Live like they promised.

Europe accounts for less than a quarter of Live, language barriers to blame {Joystiq Xbox}

Jul 31st 2008 1:04PM I have a Live subscription, but i think the problems are related to;
1) High Price in Europe compared to the US (And free to play online on PC/PS3)
2) Not enough content (US only downloads/ No VOD rentals and so on)
3) Language barriers for some contries (Not relevant for UK and Scandinavia)

The Samsung BD-UP5000 to be discontinued in May {Engadget HD}

Jan 23rd 2008 4:20PM Interesting article. Was woundering if anyone besides Broadcom try to deliver dual format reference designs(HW & Software), or samsung is going for a newer version of the Broadcom HW. That would imply that current UP5000 never will get upgraded to support the new HD sound formats.

Ben, any ideas about this?

Jan 15th 2008 10:28AM Any information about when this will be launched in Europe?

If they can fix the HD-audio-codecs, then this will be the player to own.

First multi-region Blu-ray players appearing {Engadget HD}

Dec 31st 2007 5:55AM I think that this player is more interesting for European people... Finally Blu users can buy US Bluray's witch is a lot cheaper.

A blue or HD platter in Norway starts at around 40$ and upwards.

Sony says European gamers "don't mind" delays and later releases {Joystiq}

Oct 6th 2006 11:22AM Well... he is actually correct on this.

I am perfectly happy with my x360. Will probably add a Wii, but have no plans to buy the PS3.

So personally I dont mind at all about the delay. Actually I dont care at all when they launch here in Europe.

Console Conan coming to the 360? {Joystiq Xbox}

Apr 18th 2006 4:14AM Or even on my 360 :-)
