The wait is over. First U.S. Nissan GT-R delivered at 12:01 AM {Autoblog}

Jul 8th 2008 1:53AM I like the GT-R. This is carping, but a $75K-125K car should have been designed with hydraulic lifts for the hood. Seems really antiquated for this technological masterpiece to have a hood stick hold up the hood.

Charter Communications opens the HDTV gates in Westport, MA {Engadget HD}

Feb 17th 2008 4:47PM Charter Communications is the absolute WORST when it comes to technological advances. You guys know they're still stuck on that POS known as Moxy? While Verizon, Comcast, Warner move ahead on HD at a fantastic pace, Charter is absolutely slow in their markets.

My city, Reno, NV is actually a "standalone" community that has only Charter as it's cable provider. Not sure if it's a contract with the county or if other companies don't want to build new cable infrastructure, but having Charter as the only choice stinks. Why couldn't we haven't gotten stuck with Verizon or Comcast instead? I've vistited other cities with friends showing off their HD service and am amazed how much Charter lags. Amazing those buffoons in St. Louis still are operating.

Thank god for sattellite as an alternative.

New plan to improve Cobo Hall moves forward {Autoblog}

Jan 20th 2008 12:59AM Detroit,

Change/modernize or suffer the like the slow moving big three and UAW. You were lucky to have the Super Bowl awared to you but that won't come again for at least a decade. NAIS is all you have left of significance so be warry that LA or NYC might steal it away.

You have to pay to play.

Fujitsu quits the display business {Engadget HD}

Dec 28th 2007 12:49AM TrentD,

Right on the money my friend. The above poster is obviously fairly new to the home theater arena because anyone who's been in this hobby should know that Fujitsu arguably the reference standard for plasma picture quality -- 3~4 years if I remembered correctly. Nothing but great write ups about their pic quality from respected editors such as Tom Norton.

Fujistsu just didn't have the capacity to compete with the larger OEMs in the now commodity plasma market. Certainly their plasma became overpriced in the last few years but that doesn't mean they were technically inferior. Far from it.

Nov 17th 2007 2:17PM Schumi's still the king.

Who'll replace Alonso at McLaren? {Autoblog}

Oct 23rd 2007 11:06PM As nostalgic as I'd like to be, I'd have to agree with Travis that Hakkinen is a stretch. DTM is one thing, being out of Formula 1 for EIGHT YEARS (!) is another. Schuey retired and Coulthard is showing some grey at the beard. Everyone from that era is about gone but the Haik wants to come back at this late stage of the game?

Dunno. Good to see him in the paddocks though!
