How would you change Amazon's Kindle? {Engadget}
Feb 4th 2008 10:58AM I'm surprised I haven't seen this one yet-
Anonymous reading.
I would love to see the kindle re-done with a means for completely anonymous reading and browsing. I don't like the idea that at least two corporations have access to data on when and where the user accessed which content. I suspect it won't be long before kindle access logs start showing up in courtrooms and background checks.
Panasonic offers up 32GB P2 memory card {Engadget HD}
Sep 18th 2007 11:22AM To JeffDM- speed is the issue. Whatever card you use needs to be able to catch a 100mbit data stream consistently. A very few CF cards can now do this, but they have some dependencies not likely to be supported by the camera. From what I've seen, much of the expense of the panasonics is in using multiple flash devices, and striping the data across them. Still not undoable from the perspective of a homebuilt hack, but it certainly raises the difficulty.
