Apr 29th 2008 12:05PM Most of the time when one sees a "stair stepping" effect on the diagonal lines of text, the problem is that the sharpness control is turned up too high. For instance, this effect is easily visible on all the 768p Pioneer Kuro displays in a local retail store, but it has nothing to do with pixels. If you pick up the remote and turn down the sharpness, this will go away immediately.

Engadget HD Podcast 074 - 02.27.2008 {Engadget HD}
Feb 28th 2008 12:37AM Word on AVS is that all Pioneer's 768p displays are no longer in production. A few of the dealers claim there is still a reasonable amount of Elite 768p displays in the wild, but the stock of standard Pioneer 768p models is dry. It looks like Pioneer senses that they can no longer sell 768p plasmas at the same price Panasonic sells their 1080p models.
Love the podcast guys.
