Promo codes for nothing, apps for free {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 27th 2009 8:50AM Is it mandatory to talk about fart apps in EVERY article about an app release, promotion, etc.

We get it. There are fart apps, and tons of other useless (to most) apps. Thanks.

Jul 15th 2009 10:00PM Wrong. The bottom of the line Aluminum Mac Book which was $1299 has been replaced by the 13" Mac Book Pro is $1199 (over 9% discount) and is a better computer. That was a valiant effort though.

Show me a "sports car" that improves, and reduces the price by 9-10%.

Jul 15th 2009 9:59PM Yeah. Facts. Like the fact that a MacBook Pro is not powerful, and some $1500 Windows PC is more adequate for a film maker.

Jul 15th 2009 9:54PM 1 Infinite Loop...but who needs facts when trying to make a sound argument.

Price is the only thing these commercials highlight, and I'm sure I'll be flamed, but that is not Apple's concern. Hyundai makes cars that are cheap, BMW makes cars that are expensive. BMW will never make a cheaper car to compete with Hyundai because they have different target markets. These ads are irrelevant.

I also find that quite hard to believe that this call was made. Apple is in a pretty good financial position, and I highly doubt they are even phased by these poorly designed campaigns that Microsoft is throwing at them. Microsoft "bragging" about this call further illustrates another aspect of their ridiculous marketing tactics. They are the ones who are scared, and are in defense mode.
